Yikes.
Maybe find a replacement stock to uh, well, modify?
Why on earth would he do that ?
A pristine super grade stock adds value to a gun from a collector's point of view. A modified super grade stock diminishes value. A lot.
Mounting a scope on it and hunting with it diminishes value to a collector as well. What is the purpose of the rifle? Do you want a nice hunting rifle with a pretty stock that fits you, or do you want to start a collection...? If it is a pre 64 rifle I would sell it... lousy low stock for a scope...
