H&K G36 civilian photos and details. UPDATED

Well. Those are not "aftermarket" parts more likely the "updated" parts

Everything you saw there are "genuine HK or OEM for HK" parts

Even the AR mag wall is made by "HK"

In that picture it has every aftermarket accessory they could get on it short of a coffee maker hanging on the rails. Stock should be more 'plain'.

Yes you're correct, in my haste I said aftermarket when they are OEM parts. The point being that the stock model should be more 'plain'.

we don't even know which model the picture is, you have to remember the USA model will have to have 3 major parts different and made in the USA for it to be sold there according to the us gun laws. This is why companies like HK, SIG, STEYR, GLOCK etc have set up factories in the USA.

If we do not get the german model here for some strange reason I would pass on buying it. The USA SL8 took different mags than the german one, I would guess that will be the same with this rifle.

You know what if it comes in under the Tavors price tag it will be great, the Swiss Arms is expensive for how old that gun is, so it gives us another great option, but with Gieselle making a trigger for Tavor that ups the value of that gun a lot, especially if the trigger is really good!

I take your opinions seriously and I am really curious about what you found so endearing in this rifle.

Sure it's unobtanium right now, exotic, polymer and HK. So yeah, everyone gets excited and I understand, but you? I played with one and was left lukewarm...

This all goes for me as well.

Maybe with diopter sights and a factory-mount Micro on the low-pro rail. Or the KAC sights.

I am really sick of guns with HOB issues right now.

UPDATE: Another photo of the new G36 design, this one is a select fire version but otherwise identical to the semi-auto G36 to be released.

The rifle has a new barrel mounting system that addresses loss of accuracy due to overheating the original G36 rifle experienced as was reported by German army soldiers.

Also to address another issue, the HK243 and HK293 are most likely internal designations and not necessarily the rifles names to be used on the commercial market.

at least it has the right mag/mag well on it this time, now get rid of the railed front and all the doo-dads on the top rail and we may have something

IDZ stock in my eyes is a win. Standard one is too long for my liking. This overheating poi shift seems to be more myth than anything and extremely overhyped, I believe this was extensively covered in HKPro. Looks like it accepts the non railed g36 forend, I could be wrong so for those of you that don't want the railed version I am pretty sure you can change it out. Me? I want the top rail to mount a light at 12 o clock, the bottom rail I can take or leave. Side rails to me is useless. and rail above charging handle is where the optic and buis will go.

I am excited for this alright.

They are reliable guns for sure, burned 1K through Monday. I will probably get a Non-R model. There is however much to not like. Height over bore is "unfriendly", more so with optics. OEM stock is too long, M4ish stock does not allow for folded shooting. Charging handle reciprocates and is a pain to access, mags don't drop free, OEM mags are a pain to do Tactical Mag changes with, hold open device is inside trigger guard(DUMB), fixed pistol grip, too tall, no bolt release ... did I miss anything? On the plus side it is waaaaaaaayyyyy nice to shoot suppressed...the DI C8 blows(literally, crap back at you). I think a Suppressed 416 is the next procurement mission. Still the C8 is a nicer gun to carry and manipulate, it is far more intuitive. My .02c...YMMV.

The IDZ stock is still a folder. The mags are not supposed to drop free, why hk went that route baffles me a bit. I like that it has not bolt release that is easily accessible, forces the user to follow the kiss formula(keep it simple smartypants), tap rack. The recip charging handle I can see but given the location why would your hand be there when the gun is going loud? The pistol grip is a personal preference and yes having only one style sucks a bit.

That being said if I was in charge of of the army and I was procuring a new rifle it would be the 416.

Wow, you just made the XCR sound like a better (civilian) gun.

Rumors and exaggerations, I would put little too no stock in that, same as the carrier tilt BS issues made about the HK416 that were unsubstantiated and put forth by erroneous sources trying to hold onto their AR/M4 market shares in the US...That BS rumor has been going on for over a decade at least.

Rumours? There were nation-wide investigations into the allegations and they found the rifles had a short life-span, the idiotic optical sights built into the carry handles on the early series were completely defective and heat dissipation problems.

Just like most German products, and specifically their cars, it's a defective product with an inflated price. When you buy German you're basically paying for their socialized state benefits and wages.

Too bad the Japanese aren't making guns, they'd be kicking German ass all day, every day, just like their cars are right now. At least we have Norinco and decent American brands that respond to their consumers.

which nation was doing these "investigations"? I had one of the G36 dual optics that are mounted in the carry handle that stood up to many thousands of rounds, what was defective on them?
