H&R Made M1A?

am I lost or is h&r back in business and making m1as?- afaik springfield owns the m1a trademark, and the rest are prohibited m14s- the rest being springfield m14, h&r m14, trw m14, and Winchester m14- and yes I do know of h&r 1871- makers of the handi series of rifles and shotguns- all single shots- to o/p - unless you have a pal with converted auto 12(3) on it , you want NOTHING to do with that rifle- quite a few unregistered m14s "disappeared" when c-86 came along, and if you buy it you get caught, you're looking at jail time

ok, here we go- the m14 is NOT , by any stretch of the imagination , a MACHINE GUN- it is a SELECT FIRE SEMI- AUTOMATIC RIFLE, - all m14s left the factory as SEMI-AUTOMATIC with a cap over the selector switch and a small bag of parts attached to the trigger guard - in the bag was a lever, spring, and a pin- when it reached the BRIGADE , the bag WAS REMOVED and kept in storage and the rifle was ISSUED AS A SEMIAUTO - it was on the orders of the brigade commander, that the bag was issued and installed by the brigade armourer- when the rifle was surplussed , the bags were surplussed as well- it was the BATF that designated the m14 a machinegun, , a blanket designation without provision for the non-bagged m14s-moreover, the ones in Canada came from Israel and ALL had their roller bearings and selector switches ground and capped BEFORE being imported- ie there is no way you can make a class 3 rifle from an m14 imported legally into Canada- our STUPID liberal government merely followed the batf and ruled the m14 a converted auto, when in fact , it's a semiauto converted to semi-auto

yes, but it was the LIBERALS that added all those previously unregistered guns to it under c-68- until then , uzis were just heavy pistols, feathers were just 22s, and the m14 was just another sporting rifle

H&R never made M14s or a semi auto variant of them for civilian sale. I used to shoot a CA H&R M14 and found it very accurate. Our govt doesn't allow ATTs for CAs anymore so they are strictly safe queens.

The PCs prohibited and registered the CAs long before C-68.

take it easy bud, I was just trying to state as simply as possible that H&R made "actual" M14's (which could be used as a machine gun or squad automatic weapon if you will), and that yes being classified technically and yes maybe wrongly by the BATF as a machine gun was practically non-existent in Canada. As well and the commercially produced M1A made by the current Springfield Armoury Inc (Not to be confused with the original US Govt Springfield Armoury (Closed in 1968 ) that made "actual" M14's) is a semi-auto only model, that look for the most part like an original m14 minus a few parts.

Let's make this simple
H&R , TRW , Winchester and the US military's Springfield Amory , all had contracts to make the genuine M14 rifle
Any receiver marked with any of the above 4 manufacturers is a PROHIBITED class rifle in canada.
These rifles are not to be confused with the "springfield armory Inc" M1A , a private company who "used the springfield name" as a marketing tool and made the first rip off/clone of the true M14.
The company that makes the M1A is not the same as the actual US Govt armory that originated the name (springfield)
