So the interweb is 24 years old, books and magazines are pretty much a thing of the past now that everyone relies solely on google for answers to all of their questions and concerns.........

So how many years of PI (pre-interweb) experience do you think these 3 guys add up to????

There is an abundance of wealth and information with these three aforementioned members that we can't even begin to unearth and get into print...............soak it in while you can..................

oh and Thk

It wasn't until Eagleye made comment about sabertip bullets today that I thought about it.........I remember using them and losing deer to them, just like everyone else......I thought the memories of those failed bullets where all but gone, most here likely don't even know what they were.........or that they were made in Canada......or that they were responsible for more wounded and lost game then they'll likely see in their lifetime........back in the day when we relied on stories shared around the fire in camp..........never in print or stored in a file or on a server...........

I think you mean H4831. Though H4895 is a great powder as well, I don't recall any forum members with that username :p

good catch.......my memory is going............I remember faces now and not so many names...........

Your right, Ted and Mr. Pederson fit the bill, but there is a difference between knowledgeable noble men and dreamers right.......

I am truly flattered [and humbled] to be included in such an elite group. H4831 is a personal friend, and a great guy.

Ganderite has a wealth of knowledge, particularly in respect to smokeless propellants.

Why Not has much to offer as well. c-fbmi has plenty of practical/field experience to share.

I believe Boomer should be included, though.

There certainly no teacher as good as solid experience, IMHO. :)

Regards, Dave.

I have always enjoyed reading H4831 posts and threads. Cranky at times but always full of knowledge and interesting stories. There are a few extremely knowledgeable members here ( as mentioned above and more) that I really appreciate sharing their know how and life long experience. Sad thing is that many of these gentlemen have slowly stopped sharing and posting her on CGN. Perhaps it is the change in attitude of the new members over the last couple years or perhaps other reasons but it is a shame that we seem to be losing the established members that I come here to learn from.

it's funny that I noticed that same shift.............

Seriously, these guys individually and collectively have been hugely helpful to me as I've picked up this hobby over the past year or so.

Also let's not forget about bigedp51.

Hey, when all you want to do is share advice and knowledge gained over 3-5 decades of shooting, only to be trashed by newbies still living in mom's basement who come on here one day knowing nothing and a month later handing out advice like they actually figured it out...? No, you will find fewer posts from these types of guys. I post less than I did when I first got on here and it seems that everything is either tacticool or over gunned or "look what I did" threads which are totally uninteresting. None of the truly informative discussions I found on here 6 years ago.
and, OP, magazines are not dead. I still get lots of them, as well as books. But, I'm an anachronism.

I would also offer thanks to these gentlemen. It is so helpful to have such a wealth of knowledge at our fingertips through this forum... I also still enjoy magazines. My issues of Guns of the Old West get pretty well worn out:)

Your list is solid. I never hesitate to click on posts from the mentioned members and a short litany of others, and generally learn something.

Surely though you haven't noticed that same shift just recently? I joined a while ago (12 or 13 years ago), and I think the shift toward comedy dramatica started about 7 or 8 years ago.

However, thanks to the posters who share their valuable knowledge. Doing so is still worth it, even amongst the theatre of the absurd.

Came on here with over 40 years handloading under me belt.
Have since learned a crap-ton more on this, any many many other topics ... from our patriarchs here.

There is so much cumulative knowledge on this board, boggles the mind.

Yes, I feel humbled, also, to be considered a member of what is considered to be a knowledgeable group on here. I do it because I enjoy passing on any knowledge I have learned over the years that I think may be beneficial to someone starting out, particularly in the field of reloading, which has changed so much over the years.
The good feedback received on here, including the private messages received, have certainly made it all worthwhile and counteracts the adverse responses we sometimes get.
I have also learned a lot on here, as I realize there are CGN members on here who know far more about these subjects than I do, the people who have been there, done that, so I follow their postings intently.
Thanks again guys, for your comments.

Some forums I have browsed have a thank you button at the bottom of posts, so you can obviously leave some positive feedback when someone points you in the right direction, that's missing here, and it seams like the days of hand shake and a thank you are disappearing, so the only way to say thanks and pass on anything positive is either a post like this or a PM...........

Oh and Bruce, one day I need to read your book(shameless free plug)
