Struck up a conversation with a guy I sorta know to see this morning at the gas station. I had 6 of my rimfires loaded up to go play. Asked about levers and he didn`t know. He said I have a couple real old cooeys. I asked how much? He said: "I won`t sell separately, $20 pair". They are rough, rough, rough.
One is a: Model 39(single shot). Barrel is rusted pretty darn good(22 inches long), no bolt, wood is exceptionally good...no dings or cracks at all!
The other is: Model 67 (single shot 22 short, long, long rifle) 27 inch barrel. It does fire(I tried it), couldn`t get the spent shell out. The wood feels almost like petrified wood. There is tape around the fore stock, not sure if there is a missing screw or something(haven`t tried taking the tape off, been there for years). The butt plate seems almost as petrified as the wood and it isn`t metal.
What years are these? The 39 is only worth whatever the wood, trigger, trigger guard, rear sight(missing the piece underneath it though) are worth.
He also had a beautiful Remington Model 572 pump, but wouldn`t sell it. He said he bought it maybe 20 some years ago.
