Hand Guns Restricted PAL?

Maybe I'm way off base here but I look at this forum as more of a shootin' the s**t type of discussion. If I'm standing around at the range chatting with some other shooters about getting an RPAL and the discussion strays onto another topic like an inspector's right to enter your home, I would feel comfortable enough to throw in my best recollection of the firearms act. Nobody in that situation would take my advice to court so I don't know why anyone would do that with discussion from an internet forum.

I know it's easy to condescend when you aren't face to face with your target but lets all keep a little perspective.

In Ontario in order to get a Handgun permit you must pass the extra course which is generally taught at a licenced gunclub. You must also visit at least 3 times and be watched useing a clubgun for any safety violations. I was not allowed to purchase a handgun until I joined a gunclub and at that time was issued my carry permit to and from my club or any other licenced club I am attending. The course usually takes a coupla days as well as is taught in stages with some practical shooting near the end. At my club we try to make it very interesting for the newer members as we do get quite a few of them. :)

Thats not a CFO requirement, thats a club requirement and my club didn't make me take any extra courses geared for handguns only my club level course which covered club rules.

Also, in Ontario you can purchase a restricted without being a member of a club or a "collector" but you can not transport it anywhere UNLESS you call your CFO and get a Short Term ATT.

In order to get your LTATT, you must be a full time member of a club. What your club requires you to do, is not necessarily what the CFO wants you to do in order to approve your LTATT. Yes, most clubs are "ruled" by the CFO, but "sign offs" (to prove your safe), probabtion periods etc. change from club to club.

I do, that is why all the information I have posted is factualy correct. Unlike you where all you do is post vailed attempts at name calling.

Okay... I'm not sure where that came from but to avoid any further confusion I'm going to excuse myself from this discussion. If you feel the need to continue you can feel free to setup a meeting with me by PM. We have that opportunity since we're in the same city.
