hand held ballistics calculator

Kestrel Partners with Applied Ballistics Inc. to Integrate Well-Regarded Ballistics Calculator into New Kestrel Shooter’s Weather Meter and also a Horus compatable version. With Bluetooth a unit is going to run 700.00 ?

Anyone here use Applied Ballistics? Debating 'weather' it's worth all the extra money?

This is what I use. Works great, especially once you true the MV to your actual DOPE at longer distances. Using this combination, I've been able to achieve 1st round hits out to 1,100 yards at shooting matches. The elevation is dead on.

Agreed
The kestrel AB combo works very well
One unit, environment variables synced in real time
...and it works

I'm looking to get something to work for my 6.5 Creed and 223 (both hand loaded) - whats app is everyone using for an iPhone?

I have a chronograph so can get accurate muzzle velocities

We just linked a Terrapin X to Kestrel 5700. More kit than OP inquired on, but advanced stuff and lots of helpful youtube instruction.

I’ve compared BulletFlight M with a Kestral wind meter running Applied Ballistics, and found it to be almost identical regarding elevation. Obviously the Kestral has the advantage with on the spot weather conditions versus BulletFlight using a weather app.

When running an Android, I recommend still getting a Kestrel weather meter that will give you a DA (Density Altitude) readout, but there are a ton of good apps you can run! I have used Shooter, Hornady 4DOF and most recently, Applied Ballistics. Other good choices include Strelok/Strelok Pro or Ballistics AE :)
