Hey CGN'ers

I'm going through a process to figure out what Canadian legal semi auto pistol will fit my hand and it's been a royal pain. I think I've worked out a measurement system that might help other people looking for a good hand fit but it will need some good data from our community in order to form some kind of reference data set.

I propose we start measuring up our semi auto pistols and posting the sizes here, maybe that will get you in the ballpark when deciding to make a purchase.

Here's a video on how to do it:

I have a standard Government Model 1911, a CZ 75 SP-01 Tactical and a Canik TP9sf Elite in my possession right now. When I get some time to do some measurements I'll post them here to get the ball rolling.

Hand fit is not everything, as long as you can safely control the gun. As a guy with small hands, though, I do realize that one that fits well can be a joy to shoot. I’ve owned and shot tons of handguns, and the best non-12.6 for fit for me is the SIG P320 with the small grip module. Others are close, like your 1911 and CZ75, but the P320 feels like it was made for me.

Excellent, thank you!
We have the same size hands.
These fit me from best to worst for semi-autos:

CZ P10C small palm back strap
SIG P228 and P226 both with E2 grips
S&W SW22 VICTORY is in the middle due to the tiny grip size
1911 with stock grips (didn't buy slim grips yet)
High Power with stock grips (DA pull is quite a stretch)

I didn't include revolvers since there are way more options for custom fitting grips.

That’s awesome you found something that fits you. I’ve heard that lots of people have found a good fit with the P320.

Can you take the trigger length and grip size measurements of your P320 (and your hand size too if you wish to share that info) and post it on this thread? I bet it will help others that are considering the P320.

Cool! I’ve got a CZ P10C on the way, so this gives me hope that it might actually fit!

I'm at the opposite end of the size spectrum: 5" from p and i crotch to i tip. A 2D view of my hand would show that my smallest finger is 7/8" wide and fingertip to wrist over 8". I've had to pass on pistols and revolvers (I liked and wanted) because they were too small and had crush/pressure points on my hands.

Beretta 92fs
2 13/16" trigger to web. DA ... 2 9/16" SA
5 3/4" around the grip where small hand guys will hold... big hands like mine encompass the whole grip and magazine base.

Size 8.5 in surgical gloves, fairly long fingers. CZ75 grip with thin alu panels is too small. Fixed with thick alloys and grip tape.

The FEG P9M I have is a very near copy of the Browning Hi Power so it’s SA only. The P9R is the weird S&W model 59 inspired DA/SA model but I don’t have access to one. I bet they’re dimensionally very similar to the model 59.

I wonder if the S&W style P9R models are all that bad? I’ve never actually seen one in person.

I have large hands and even when using the largest factory pistol grips my trigger finger is still ahead of the trigger guard.
Can anyone help me find larger grips for my Block 34 Gen 4 and my Walther P99AS both are 9mm.

Added SIG 320 / 250 grip circumference by module, taken from pew pew tactical:

I'm not sure about trigger reach though, it looks like it's around 2 5/8" judging from on line images on HandgunHero.com
