Handgun Ban

Seems like gun owners are their own worst enemy, even with C71, I thought the one petition would at least get all the RPAL holders to sign, it didn't, that seems like an indicator of apathy and indifference to me. Now that this encompasses airsoft, handguns and that mag restrictions have been promised, it is time for gun owners to get off their butts, write letters to the Lib and Con and NDP MP's and Senators, news orgs.

Heard the news today so I just bought my first handgun. (Sig P226 MK25)
Well… actually my second but the first was a Colt 1851 Navy Revolver as a western collector item so I don’t really count that.

I think the next 24 hours are going to break all time records in Canada for sales.

It’s a bit ironic seeing someone banning so many guns while simultaneously shooting himself in the foot.

They will grandfather the ownership of EXISTING handguns. They gave up on the idea of given powers to the Provinces and cities. That was a non-starter, as we all know.
Finally, Trudeau admitted that sports and target shooting are legitimate reasons for handgun ownership by responsible citizens, but beyond that, no reason to own a handgun.
If this buys all of us a few years of peace, then so be it. All in all, this was not as draconian as I'd expected. It sucks that new people or our children will not be able to enjoy a great sport, but Liberals finally get that us law-abiding gun owners have never been the problem.

There are some that will be negative, and say that this is just the beginning of the end, etc... But I believe it could have been one hell of a lot worse today.
Just go out there and enjoy the range for now. We have earned years of peace today, let's focus on the present.

You're in the pot, but the water hasn't started boiling yet. A naive individual would think it's nothing more than a cozy bath.

Letters dont do squat, been writing them for years, the last court challenge needed money, they actually collected very little, I personally gave a lot, many of you write letters but not the cheques that are needed. If you want to do something, everyone kick in $200 and see where we get to
