handgun/club memebership question....

Boy you guys are lucky cost me $160 a year for outdoor which includes one night a week at indoor range? I like the privacy it provides and since now you need every farmer's ok to trespass on his land [although none of them live on it anymore?] just to shoot some shells or actually hunt. Phone contact is out as most use cell phones now [stupid gov't]

LOL - $120 /yr for one and $65 for the other - both carry insurance (which incidentally is dirt cheap for gun clubs), neither charges a "per visit fee". The furthest away is a 40 minute drive. Oh yes, year round.

ETA

1st Club - Trap Range, Rifle Range (250m), Archery, Airsoft, Pistol bays, Club House, Camping, Coffee Shop and the Club owns it's own land.

2nd Club - 200 m rifle range, 25 m pistol, all covered firing points.

Mine are $95 a year and $3.25 per range trip to the indoor to pay for targets. Shooting trap on Sundays is $4.00 a round I believe

I've heard some crazy prices for the big city ranges! What do you pay?

I pay over $300 for a family membership (that's only myself +1), I used to pay for a family membership for all 4 of us, but we never all go at the same time so it was a waste. I am insured through the club. Guest pass is $20 for the day. Trap pit is $5 a round (25 birds) for members and more for non-members. A plus, you can shoot trap whenever you please. Actually the whole range is that way, there is none of this " rifles on Mondays and Wednesdays, pistols on Tuesdays...ect.
The range I belong to is a bit of a "Meca" for shooters in my area as there is a gun shop attached and their prices are reasonable for gear, guns and ammo. It is a big + to be able to go to the front entrance and just buy ammo if you've run out. Many courses are also put on through the range which is also a plus. (and additional expense). For instance, someone mentioned a holster course (my club has one too for $70!) In my mind, I've paid for a full membership, and its not my rule or a government one (insurance, different matter) that this course is required to use a holster...so give me the stupid course as an inclusion of membership!? (make sure pistol is "safe", draw from holster (don't shoot yourself or others while doing so), sight the target, remove safe, fire. reverse the procedure to holster.) $70!? Nonsense!

However, if there were a place nearby that charged $65 per year, the aforementioned "pluses" would fade away to a distant memory.
