Certainly, but I am afraid it would be consist of dreams. Unless is created as an action item where we can exchange ideas and actually try to get things moving.

That's actually been a hot topic of debate - should it be 'open' so that others can see it, learn stuff and participate, or should it be closed like the 12.x stuff to prevent anti's and others getting wind of things (which means fewer participants and stuff. )
 
This may not be as constructive as other posts, but if there was even half a chance of being able to handgun hunt, I would get my restricted. I love to hunt and supply my own food source, and this would just be one more way to do it. Also, I think it would be a great idea to be able to have a .22 pistol, for those finishing shots that we all have to do once in a while.

Maybe I'll just sign up for the restricted anyways, maybe not buy a handgun for now, but just to put in my support. Would be willing to be involved in any letter writting campaign that comes up. Also going to a Super Bowl party this Sunday, and will make a point of bringing the topic up with my non-hunting and non-gun owning friends.

Province - Fed - Hunting groups. Names and addresses.

2. Each gun nut go out to his or her hunting forum and ask the question: Do you want handgun hunting as an option.

I was at hunt BC just a minute ago - nothing about handgun hunting (that I saw)

Actually if you are refering to the trapping of fur bearing animals, a bullet hole decreses the value of the pelt. Or at the very least causes you more work with a needle and thread. An axe handle does not.;)

That particular thread doesn't do the proposal any good, as it seems to have drawn a vocal minority who just wants to speculate and dictate for pages at nausium for the negative for some reason. I'm not sure if a dedicated forum here would be any better either IMHO.

It also tends to demonstrate how there are those who prefer chest thumping and 'feel good' statements that achieve absolutely nothing rather than face honest facts. So - really i question it's value.

I doubt there's more than a couple of people here who've taken the time to actually call all the players involved or do any kind of real research into it. Yet everyone's an expert and if the facts aren't to their liking, they'll just call them 'negative' or 'anti gun'. People don't really want handgun hunting. They just want to imagine it.

It's not complex - people would rather talk about it than do something about it. And if they DO do something about it, they'd rather do something easy than actually face the challenges.

People don't want it bad enough to take an honest look at it and do what it takes. Or more accurately, not enough do.

Sorry bud. That's just the way it is. Maybe it'll change some day, but right now that's what you're looking at.

Never. It will take work and an honest evaluation of what's involved to make it happen. There is little interest in that.

But people like you will keep talking, maybe write a letter once in a while, pat themselves on the back, shoot down anyone who actually suggests a way to do it, etc. So, it's entertaining from that point of view.

Hell - look at this thread. Not content with ruining the other one, you and others feel the need to make cheap shots here too. Far more entertaining that talking about what to actually do to make it happen, isn't it.

I'm sure groups like the sierra club and pita appreciate your efforts tho.
