Exactly...I lock mine in the safe, no trigger locks required
Would this meet the regs for secure storage?
The barrel is removed and stored in a locked cabinet apart from the lower and slide which is stored in another locked cabinet without a trigger lock. Much like the military stores their pistols.
Just curious.
Thanks,
HA
Ammunition stored separably as well.
Store the ammunition separately or lock it up. It can be stored in the same locked container as the firearms.
I lock mine in the safe, no trigger locks required
I'm lazy I guess but I went above and beyond. Mine are trigger locked in a locked travel case which is locked in a metal safe which is stored in a room designed to secure firearms. When I want to go to the range I just unlock and unbolt my gun room door and walk in open the safe and grab the guns I wish to take to the range. All required things are locked in their travel cases. Lots of locks but it's a simple system
Is this true?
Yeah if it's a safe and not a cabinet
Care to post the legal difference?
Shawn
You store your guns in travel cases? Foam ones?
Negative, as long as its a locked cabinet/safe you can store them together as per the RCMP.

Safe storage laws was never about "safes" or theft protection. Perhaps that is where some of the confusion lies?
