Handgun transfer wait times?

Pistol I just purchased, private sale, was 48hrs. Can't remember exactly but the few I have purchased before were easily less than a week. Crazy some are waiting weeks fro their transfers. Have you specified email notification, that alone would speed it way up. I usually dont receive the registration in mail for a month.
 
My process started wednesday and its sunday. The shop say it maybe a week. Supposedly the RCMP are even working Saturdays as there are a glut of people buying handguns do to the election.
 
I called after 56 hours and she said it's still with the province (ns) :( Im heading home from work for 2 weeks next saturday and was reallt hopi g I would be approved and in the mail so I can shot if at the range while im home!!!
 
Just a quick update......I have received the registrations certificates(1 Month) and come to find out that my firearms sat in the store for over two weeks with no contact.

I just called to check on it and she said that the provincial cfo wa ted a copy of my range membership. Hopefully won't tale long after that!
 
Just got my registration for the new future scrap metal today. Issued on Oct 21, letter dated Oct 27. Yay! Now I can start spanking this soon to be paperweight.
 
I wish Nova Scotia CFO get with the times and Email. Wednesday called and approved 6 days later I get the snail mail TAN# paper and still not registration cert. That be in next week probably.

I hear that! I just called and was told transfer was completed today. 6 days after initiated lol. Now to wait for the gun then to wait for certs :(
 
Handgun transfer my case, three business days - Ontario.

Sold a handgun to someone in Alberta on Thursday, we both called in our info that afternoon to complete the transfer. Checked and transfer complete Friday afternoon so I sent the gun that afternoon. Pretty good for a BC to Alberta transfer :)
 
Couple of transfers to Alberta within a day or two, Ontario about a week or little longer.
Transfer to Quebec, two weeks and still waiting.
 
Last one to Ontario is dragging its heels.....I had to call the cfo today, thought I'd ask for an update, done but no paperwork....that's a couple of weeks in...the lovely lady in be said laughingly...it's Ontario dragging it out....lol

Ontario purchaser from an Ontario store... This summer it took 2 days to my door. Checked up on an purchase I made a week ago and was told... sorry, approximately another 2 weeks, there is about another 800 transfers in front of you. Exaggeration, maybe. Frustrating, definitely! Might be my last restricted for awhile!!!
 
Purchased on 10/31 at Gun Show in SK. Shop owner did paperwork Monday 11/02 afternoon, as CFO not available for weekend business. Transfer approval received by Gun Shop next day Tuesday 11/03. Transfer paperwork received in today's mail 11/09. Awaiting Registration Certificate (this week maybe, even with 11/11 stat?).
 
Called for the transfer paperwork to be emailed 2 days after my purchase last week. Woman on the phone told me it was actually read day after purchase. I got transfered to another desk to have it emailed to me. Not sure why they dont automatically email it. People were very pleasant on the phone.
