Handgun transfer wait times?

i bought a german-made p220 from target sports on october 27 and it was ready for pickup on the 30th.

Not mine case , already a week .

P30L from dealer in Ont to me in Ont. 2 weeks and counting as of today.
SFP9 and 22/45 from dealer outside Ont to me in Ont. 1 week and counting.
I know its Xmas but this is crazy.

Its not crazy.... its just Ontario. I've had a few under a week, most are within 2wks, and a couple that took a month or more.

Its just a matter of luck.

My LGS sent my transfer request in on Dec 8th, transfer notification was done and emailed to me on Dec 11th. I just received my Registration card for it today! Now I can finally go to the range and shoot it. Why can not the Transfer Notification and Registration Card be produced and printed at the same time? It would save a lot of paperwork and time.

If they sent transfer & reg cert. together, then you would be shooting that pistol and having fun alot sooner! Can't have that, now can we!

Contacted the Ontario CFO yesterday. The Seller did his part and handed me the phone to do mine.
Now the wait begins for the email with their blessings….

They are sent by two different agencies. The transfer notification by the provincial CFO, and the reg. cert. by the federal CFC in Miramichi

9 working days for me with the BC CFO. This was over the Xmas holidays so likely they were understaffed

I did one with seller together on Wednesday and it was done in about 30 minutes from start to finish. The two lady's that we were dealing with were the best I have ever talked to. That's the way it should be done.

I just did a trade with a guy in TO. The Alberta CFO approved the transfer the next day, Ontario CFO took 1-1/2 weeks with prodding.

BC is usually done within a day.

Well not a handgun, but BC CFO approved my IUR in under 24 hours!!!!!
