Handgun Transfer

After calling and punching in 1-4-2 about 200 times over the last 2 days with no luck, I tried 1-6-1. Margaret from the RCMP answered and initiated the transfer for me without question! I asked if I could conference call the buyer to complete the transfer once my portion was complete and she said yes. Both sides of the transfer completed in about 4 minutes.

Thanks for the heads up "cman". !

Wow! I really lucked out I guess?
The buyer who is in PEI has already received the transfer notification as well!!. At least one provincial CFO is doing their job today........

I called 20 times on 1-6-1 and got an operator named Charlene who was not training in restricted transfers. On the 1-4-2 it keeps dropping my call.

Ontario.

Order purchased on tues 05/31. Alberta CFO confirmed transfer on morning of 06/02

Have 2 more transfers awaiting confirmation, but that was from today, time will tell on those. All purchases from dealers, not private.

The Alberta CFO is definateley on the ball on this.

Day 3 of trying to get through. The menu options have changed and now force you to listen to a part about the new bill c21

I've tried the 1 - 6- 1 option now three times. The first two times I called I was on hold, but after about 3 minutes I got to talk to people. Those people I talked to said they couldn't help me, or even answer some of my simple questions, and transferred me back to the line of dropped calls. The third time I called I was on hold and then that line dropped me as well, after 5 minutes.

65 attempts and counting today. Usually just disconnected as they don’t have the capacity to add me to the queue. When I am placed on hold, it disconnects after 3-6 minutes.

Yes, same thing 78 calls yesterday and I am on 52 now today. I tried 1-6-1 twice and I dont think Charlene likes me anymore.

Hey, at least it's not Ontario, It already took a month before the "freeze" announcement, I can only imagine the timeline now. Don't forget these a$$holes have summer holidays booked and cottages to get too.

Please understand the current delay as we have encountered a number of issues since our unhinged minority Government made the announcement.

1. The amount of new Canadian customers that are buying pistols that are prohibited due to the barrel length is staggering, added to that, magazines with a capacity of 50 rounds or less currently are the only magazines that can be exported. Do not buy drum mags over 50 rounds!!!

This is over loading our staff who are policing the site, which unfortunately is causing serious delays is other areas.

2. As well, we kindly ask if you are going to email us or if you are able to get through on the phone please tell us your name and have your order number in the email.
There is no point in emailing us 5 times without including that information and telling us no one is getting back to you.

3. Like every other store we are doing our best to service you. At the moment priority is given to the Canadian website and the export to ensure we get everything out as quick as we possibly can. It should also be noted that we are also bogged down by the new regulations for NON restricted firearms.

4. If you have an order on our US site please be patience, we are weeding through and canceling all the orders with prohibited items. Your order will migrate to the Canadian site once it has been processed at which point if you are a new customer you will be able to upload your PAL.

5. If you get an email saying your order has been canceled and refunded it is most likely because you ordered something that is not exportable.

Finally, should you have any questions please see Commonly Asked Questions. https://www.irunguns.ca/content.php?page=commonly-asked-questions.

IRUNGUNS will be working through the weekend to try and get caught up.

When we have more information we will let everyone know.

We would like to that everyone for their support in these trying times.

Just curious, do purchases from the US site require to land in Canada before the transfer can start? I really wanna place an order for a few more gizmos, but that's a huge risk to lose restocking fees when OIC can occur any day.

On another one of their threads someone said they phoned Arizona and were told they have to be in Canada for the transfer to be initiated. Lets see if IRUN can confirm or dismiss, lots of hearsay around lately.

I believe they are overloaded at this moment. They are focusing doing the transfer for the orders that are already in Canada.
Means even if they can initiate the transfer before the order reach Canada they would not have resources to do so. (Even though we wish they can)

Can someone answer this- if I am in BC and I order from Ontario - does it have to pass through the ontario CFO first and then go to the BC CFO ? Or does it come directly to BC?

Will people in BC be caught up with all the Ontario delays? Thanks cgn!

I don't think so. They input details on the web portal. If you live in BC it will go to BC CFO for approval.
