Happy New Year 2020! Norinco 1897 Trench gun Back in Stock! Only 299

I could be wrong but that barrel looks too short for the repro heatshield and bayonet lug. I also heard they have a screw in choke that leaves the barrel too thin for the notch required for the front screw IF the barrel is long enough in the first place. Again, I could be wrong as I haven't seen the gun in person.

I believe it should be 20.5" for the heat shield to fit properly. Hard to say looking at the pictures and it's fairly common to see these with 20" instead.

Our trench upgrade on working, need to drill 3 holes.

So is this barrel slotted for the shroud? Or perhaps the barrel doesn’t need to be slotted?

Is Durham going to be selling the kits?

I’m intrigued

I need a few bayonet mounts.
Anyone know where to get them?
Also, how does one enter your monthly draw?

These 1897s look better than the 1897s that Marstar is offering. The blueing looks better to me and the grip looks fantastic.

With the 1897 the nudging forward to cycle was a feature that was incorporated by John Browning and I believe acts as an out of battery safety for the shotgun. It was a feature of the original Winchester produced guns and is not a defect in the Chinese replicas.

That is 100% correct. It's a design implement into the action and its ingenious. It ensures you can not pull the action rearward while the hammer is dropping causing a dangerous out of battery.
I have seen people at gunshows handling model 12s dryfiring the action and think the shotgun is defective because of this lol
The sharp recoil unlocks it. You can simulate it by pulling the trigger and pushing the pump forward before pulling it rearward.
John Browning was a God damned genius.

Warning and FYI

Repro bayonets sold may NOT FIT unless they are machined or file or Dremeled by you to do so.

This is not just IMA as they are commonly sourced.

Some may fit but this is a problem so be aware.

IMA does not warn people about this.

You will find it out if you check the customer reviews on the site BUT not all bayonet customers have posted this feedback.

So you should expect that you will have to do some work to get it to fit and the risk that you will file away too much and it will be lose and rattle or wiggle.

If you are up to doing a conversion then you should have no problem with this but it is something to be aware of if you are not comfortable with doing this kind of work.

Check the IMA site and review customer comments.

And FYI warning about Ebay Global Shipping and Bayonets

Ebay does not restrict posting or sale for bayonets or shipping from US to Canada.

BUT.......

Please note Ebay has started to seize bayonets and confiscate (real and repro) if sent through the Ebay Global Shipping program.

Right now it is two weeks after they attempted to grab my 1902 Krag bayonet sent from a reputable dealer in the US who was also shocked by what happened.

The dealer ships frequently to Canada and has not had a problem until recently (December)

Right now Ebay claims they are reviewing this and the item release with Global Ebay Shipping but the seller and I are under the impression we are being lied to and strung along as
it is now two weeks and two follow ups later and no answer or status.

Any plan to bring in the bayonet lug/heatshield? The link to the store you posted does not ship to Canada.
