Can you get replacement foam for Pelican cases ? So if you cut out for one rifle and you want to use it with another rifle, different profile you are good to go?

While I certainly do like the "cut out" foam, I looked at just "mil spec" poly foam in sheets, that way it can accommodate any number of rifles?

This sort of rifle is large and bulky. There are a number of quality rectangular cases available. I prefer to use compression style foam, rather than cut-to-fit. That way the case is usable with different rifles.
There are good soft cases, too.

Don't discount the Plano option as well. They would be the Buick while the pelican is the rolls Royce. The huntshield hard cases are on sale this upcoming week at Canadian tire, and are re-branded Plano cases. I have my rpr in the double case. It is heavy but seems bulletproof. They come with pick and pluck type foam. By folding the stock, you could get away with tee single rifle case, I went double. The rifle is in there, stock unfolded with room for the bolt, magazines and I usually toss a handgun in there too with some mags when I go it the range.

Another option I considered is Cabelas extreme hard case that I see is $60 off right now, but the closest store to me had none in stock and I wanted to see it before buying.

Damn good cases.

I agree~ But... I purchased the last one on the shelf at Cabelas last month in Moncton and one of the twist latch/locks broke the first time I went to use it. (In all fairness, I think some ham fisted monkey overstressed it when they were looking at it). I exchanged it for the Plano like CTC sells and (I have 3 now) and have not looked back. Another plus with the Plano is you don't have to buy additional locks and the pluck foam makes a relatively nice job of creating a home for your rifle.

freedom out...

The twist latches was the main thing I wanted to check out on that case before pulling the trigger on it, if it had been on sale at the time like now I may have just ordered one online and returned it if I didn't like it, but Prophet River was having a sale at the time and had a Pelican, after looking at it decided to be done with it spend a bit more and bought it.

Looked at the specs on the Plano and can't remember if it was a but shorter or not quite as wide that I thought it wouldn't work for me, I have another gun that's smaller that I like a separate case for so may revisit this dilemma again after I sort through this years Christmas gift cards lol.
