Hardest Animal You have Ever Hunted!

It's okay pureshot, we have some "superhunters" around here that must go out of the way to set themselves above all the other hunters here.
Because they are "super" LOL

My apologies for 'boring' you, I just felt the need to point out the irony in that post. If you look through my posts, you can see I am not an old lady. I have no issue backing up my claims with photo evidence, though that is not why I do it. I post because I am proud of my relatively meager hunting accomplishments. They are here for all to see. Admittedly the photos from the last few seasons are thin for the last few seasons because I have had less time afield than I would like, and a good portion of that time has been spent helping rookies get their game. I enjoy being helpful.

I have hunted game all over and the the Southern African "blesbok" or blesbuck is the toughest kill I have ever faced, if you don't drop it stone cold dead on the first shot, it gets an adrenalin rush second to none and you will have a long hard wait for it to drop or you will search for hours if not days to find it, I have repeatedly seen hunters shoot them multiple times and yet they still kept going, they are one tough antelope.

Was just wondering, how big is a "blesbok", are they bigger them moose? Sounds like on tough critter!

Thanks man. For 30k, how many animals can I kill and who would you recommend as a professional guide?

I want to bring my GF who will not be shooting just observing, is that extra?

It's extra, but peanuts. Probably $150/day. $30K will probably get you just the buffalo. Add on other animals anywhere from $200 to $2000 depending on the animal. Then you have to pay shipping and taxidermy on them, even if you go Euro mount it will cost something. If it's a high volume hunt you're after then look at RSA. If you want a real bush hunt then look at Namibia's Caprivi Strip (now called the Zambezi Region), Mozambique or Zimbabwe. Keep in mind I'm talking about standard common game. If you want more exotic then you're into Ethiopia, Cameroon and CAR and the cost is much higher, as are the demands of the hunt.

WOW!!! Incredible!!!!!!

I have one on the wall from 2007. Got pretty good video of the shot. Serious bang flop. They all do that, if you hit 'em right. #### it up and you can be into a gunfight. Ask back40sniper about his gemsbok. That thing was determined to cost him money with no payoff at the end.

That's nuts eh? I wonder what gives an animal that size the resilience to be so hard to put down.
I hammered a moose once that just stood there, then started eating again... Was sure I missed with the 7mm mag so I aimed higher for the spine above the shouder. Boom and dropped like a sack. Later found the first bullet to be a solid lung/heart shot.
I've heard guys say that there is 8 seconds or so of oxygen to the brain even if the heart stops. If true, some animals can do amazing things with that 8 seconds LOL

Of big game species I've been lucky to take twenty or so species, well known guys here have done many more. Out of all those, many have proven tough animals but none have proven an order of magnitude tougher than any other. Universally, if you get an animal's adrenaline up things change drastically. A few stand out, the big bovids can be impressive, but they still die when hit right. Hit something wrong and you can walk forever, the poorest shots landed make all the wildest stories.

Shot a very big black bear with my 12 gauge with 3" magnum slugs at 11 yards, paced off by me. Blew out his lungs and liver both were mush, he still ran about 100 yards. Unbelievable!

If you can't stand me, there's an app for that. (Actually it's a site function, and it's called 'ignore')

I'm trying to extend an olive branch, and further the conversation in your thread. Be a grown up.
