To me it's been an alpha male timber wolf on the ground by calling. Had several chances yet I haven't shot one. Once I had a big male in my sights but promised my hunting partner I wouldn't shoot a wolf till we had our bears. Another time I had a shotgun with slugs as the male came into view on the logging road along with about 15 of his friends. I hesitated and lost the opportunity. Other times I've seen their ghostly shape move between the trees never giving me a clear shot. I have taken a gorgeous white female that came more then 450 yards thru a clear cut right to my call. My buddy watched her come most of the way. I shot her at 40 yards or so with a 25/06 thru both shoulders. She dropped into the undergrowth. 30 minutes later when I walked up to her she was still alive. Unable to stand she just watched me. I placed the but stock on her neck and stabbed her thru the ribs with my Spyderco. I pet her until she died. About 15-20 seconds. It took years for me to get one on my terms. It was even harder to have her die literally in my hands.

YAY, I finally hqve something in common with Caramel!
Me it was a snapping turtle, i had so much trouble breaking that hard shell to make a soup... JP.
PM sent. Let's bury the hatchet on this one and move forward. This thread has merit, and I'd like to have intelligent discussion on it.
And maybe just a touch sensitive. Oh well. I wanted to hear about an 11 yd bear kill, but until he adds it to post 60, I will never know.
Not really man, I just get nervous when I am being stalked, like I am being stalked by this swifty person. When being stalked in the bush by animals I know how I handle it and I have. Being stalked by anything always gets my hair to stand up on end, if you have ever been stalked, then you understand.
By the way I am a big man in stature, definitely not a little fellow.
Nah, I've got it memorized by now. You need to learn how to 'not acknowledge' someone though.
