One more upvote for Ron and Gerald. Ron made the barrel for my rolling block, so now I have a very stylish single shot 30-30 with gain twist rifling. He also rebored a badly shot out 94 in 32-40 to 38-55. That gives me a 100-year-old rifle wth a brand new bore.
Next up will be a 94 carbine that left the factory as a 32-40 and now has a barrel with no rifling in it whatsoever and a finish like a cave. Zero reflectivity. Never seen one shot out so badly. She'll be happier when it's a 38-55 like her big sister. Gerald will do that work for me.
Do I need two 38-55 chambered 1894 Winchesters? Probably not. But it ain't about need, is it?
