So anyhow to answer your question, yes they are the same just drill that hole on the bottom plate to gain better access for cleaning. Slide of the plate off and you can see your internal rivet holding the plug in place. Ive noticed a few rivets in bad locations not allowing 5 1/2 rounds of clearance, buy a pop rivet gun and adjust to fit. They threw in the rivet because they realized people were drilling and removing bottom plates for cleaning and rcmp like to have the obvious visual rivet for inspection. If you have an old tapco mag and drill the plate you need to add said rivet to comply, once the old plates slide off your in magical dangerland.
Dry silicone spray works best on these plastic mags, repels burnt powder and dust and wipes clean.
Thankyou BCrecce, that is all I wanted to know, really! Amazing how people read into a simple post all kinds of things, probably becasue of the way I worded it, but I do appreciate the warnings people put out. I actually DID drop this thing in the mud out front of my house while trying to "fit" it to my Tula SKS. I ended up hosing the crap out of it as best I could, but thought, "Geez, somebody must know how this thing works" My apologies for starting a bit of an argument folks. I guess I'll be more to the point next time.
