Has the AR market in Canada totally collapsed or what?

Well I have done my part this month getting my first 2 restricted guns. First was the pre order for the German HK45's coming and the other is a Noveske Recon AR15. I put off owning restricted because of the hassle, but now that my cherry is popped I don't see it ending.

Alternatively:

Seller: I want a million bucks for this house.

Buyer: but the market exploded. Demand was so strong that a thousand new construction companies were formed, and instead of choosing between five houses, I'm choosing between five hundred.

Seller: Oh no! The market collapsed!

Builder: Hooray! I'm selling more houses than ever! This market is incredible!

What really happened? The primary market is so strong that the artificial prices previously supported in the secondary market are no longer tenable, even though demand is stronger than ever.

So buy low sell high is that it? :)

You won't see the end now.. good luck

any speculative investors going into this market didn't have a clue, because anybody even remotely tied to the gun industry has known for a long time that demand is up on black guns, but prices are down on account of increased competition.

So if one bought in order to sell, they were definitely taking the buy high, sell low approach.

If you're a buyer in the market today, options are great and prices are good. If you're a producer or a seller, demand is higher than ever.

The only people suffering are speculators. Pardon me while I dry my tears for them...

People on here are just asking too much money for a used AR. Lots of places are selling AR's like crazy and cant keep em in stock sometimes. Maybe it would sell if you didnt ask what you paid for it.

When or if AR's become NR then they will sell like hot cakes. For me the hassle of only being a range gun and can't take out to the bush, did make me get a NR TAVOR instead, and a JR carbine with 10 rnd pistol mag, sks, and all good for range and bush.

I check the EE regularly, and there are a ton of used, reasonably priced AR's for sale that just aren't selling.

I doubt this. Like most of the EE, owners seem to think that their stuff goes up in value. Plus lots of guys don't want to shell out extra to get the six different rail systems dudes figure are necessary that sit empty and make a light weapon heavy. Their are also cheaper rifles available today ( no just Norinco) . Just because there was a more captive market when the rifle was bought, does not mean that it holds the same value today. Just my thoughts.

good job just buy a bigger safe now it will be full in not time!

Im going to reinforce my point like i said before but this time no names said going after my trader rating because i offered what i felt was a fair trade and nameless party going on to bash what i had to offer there are alot of pompous idiots that try to sell there rifles as if there brand new black rifles are like vehicles the more you use them the more they drop in value.

Restricted status is a killer. The existing NR black rifle market would collapse if the AR went NR.

Necro thread that's more like an EE rant cause the sellers didn't like my offers so I'm gonna whine about it resurrecting a old thread.

The AR market is strong in Canada with more and more varieties offered from retailers. If you actually follow the AR retail market and see how quickly AR's sell out of stock than you'd realize this. Try and order a specific Stag AR from Arms East or how about the recently available $2600 Armalite AR10 National Matches at Wolverine that sold out in a couple days. Even SFRC has trouble keeping the much debated NEA AR's and AR parts in stock.

Prohibit AR's in Canada? Never gonna happen because they couldn't afford to buy them back from owners and the backlash from not offering a buy back would be huge. There's too many in Canada to make this even a reasonable possibility.

I think (and greatly fear) that instead prohibuting ARs and anything else cool/fun we could see a move to prevent taking black guns to a range like the CA/FA C10A law.

An what kind of legal battle will follow if this happens. Prohibiting the use of the firearm is the same as making them illegal and confiscating them. Your comparing a firearm that has very low numbers compared to how many AR's are in Canadians hands. The Norinco AR's and other cheap available AR's on the market have made it possible for every Canadian firearm owner to be able to afford one.

As the economy and population grows in Canada - the firearm and AR market will steadily increase. Got my PAL 2 years ago and said I would never buy an AR cuz of restricted status... well I finally caved - just got one after months of research. Most first time buyers like me, just buy new becuz sometimes they just dont wanna worry about used - within that group, most shooters are happy with one AR. At the end of the day it's like car ownership, ammo is like gas... drive it into the ground and get your money's worth. I am not a fan of buying someone else's custom gun or parts - rather customize myself.

I don,t think you understand C10A. That made the CA/FA safe queens as one could no longer take them to a range. Nothing made "illegal" nor talk of confiscating, just make them basically "unuseable" as a firearm. All we need is a loopy leftie/lib government come along and they will eff firearms owners (not just black/green gun people BTW) over like there is no tommorrow, their agenda is perfectly clear.

I understand full but my point was that making them safe queens is the same as making them illegal because you can't use them for what they are made for and that's to be shot. Making AR's safe queens as far as I'm concerned is the same as banning an confiscating because they are still useless.

Canadian firearm owners get screwed over because they are too busy fighting amongst each other to become organized and stand for anything. Canadian firearm owners lack backbone and conviction.
