Has the AR market in Canada totally collapsed or what?

I understand full but my point was that making them safe queens is the same as making them illegal because you can't use them for what they are made for and that's to be shot. Making AR's safe queens as far as I'm concerned is the same as banning an confiscating because they are still useless.

Canadian firearm owners get screwed over because they are too busy fighting amongst each other to become organized and stand for anything. Canadian firearm owners lack backbone and conviction.

Ok Now I get what your saying and we are just echoing the same stuff back and forth regarding the future.

I know that this thread was started long ago but here I am.

I bought an AR this summer, coinciding with my new RPAL. I bought a WW flat top and put on an optic sight, all brand new. It wasn't expensive in the big scheme of things - about $2000.00 all in. Never been messed with by a self taught "armourer", no doodads hanging off of it that I didn't want and no round count, well maybe 3 to 5.

Alot of used ARs look like something I can see in a comic book, not my style.

Most used gun prices are totally out of whack with reality. I've seen people with unrealistic values for their used equipment but restricted gun owners are the worst. When a clean, stock gun is advertised for 25% to 35% off of the current market value for new it will sell without trouble (prohib less so).

As far as strength in numbers goes I have yet to bump into someone who is relinquishing their RPAL, I have met 6 or 7 guys since I got mine who are friends/acquaintences that also recently got theirs. They are all middle to upper middle class folks and they are not flag wavers or "pro-gun", they quietly go about their business and have been buying and shooting restricted arms.

Contrary to what Chicken Little might say, the sky is not falling.

Prohibit AR's in Canada? Never gonna happen because they couldn't afford to buy them back from owners and the backlash from not offering a buy back would be huge. There's too many in Canada to make this even a reasonable possibility.

I think you are far too optimistic about this. The Libs and Dippers at various times have both put forward the idea of banning all handguns and all centerfire semi-auto long guns, not just AR's. There won't be a buy back and they won't care about the backlash because it is exactly what their urban lefty communist base want.

If they did ever prohibit them there wouldn't be a buy back, lets get real haha they aren't going to pay everyone back the money they have in them. They will just change the law and you have X amount of days to comply or become a criminal.

No my rant is about AR's on here people are trying to sell them used at a price you can buy them for brand new that is all if your going to try and be a troll then you fit right in with the people i am stating an example of.

AR market deflated quite a bit with the introduction of all those fancy non-restricted black rifles. Why pay upwards of 3 grand for a range/safe queen when you can buy Tavors, XCRs, ACRs, etc. that can be used anywhere and are not registered?

Those rifles are definitely on the expensive end, but if you only have to add another $500-1000 over a good quality AR to have a non-restricted black rifle, it's almost a no-brainer to me.

Last year this time, uppers and various parts were pretty tough to find, and completed rifles were farther between. That was a temporary thing. Prices now seem to be down, and availability is a lot better.

New shipments of Norc CQ-A's, Oracle DPMS, and a variety of US manufactured AR's from iRunGuns are filling in the low end of the market while the mid and top-tier manufacturers are now pretty available and prices are going down. CQ-A's for $699-ish, Daniel Defense for $1469, etc, etc.

As an AR owner, I can look at all this and lament that my own rifle can't be sold for a profit, or I can look at it as a positive thing because the low prices are going to attract a ton of new owners. All those new owners are going to mean we'll have a better community for aftermarket parts, more companies to service it, as well as more demand for competitive shooting events.

I agree.

that can be said about almost every firearm on the EE why would I buy used when I can buy new for 10% more. people selling their crap need to take a hint, if you have been bumping your thread for weeks or even months then hello? maybe your outrageous price has something to do with it LOL
