Hatsan Optima/Escort MPA Semi 12ga

Running out of ideas. The recoil spring can be fixed with a couple boxes of slugs. I wonder if the extractor might be the culprit? Perhaps it needs a look to see if it is doing its job.

Hi guys,

Just want to find out what type of slugs can be used for this shotgun. I have one but not sure what ammo I can use specifically slugs. Please advise.

Thanks

Ron

Considering it's a cylinder bore you could pretty much stuff anything in your shells and it would shoot them just fine.

That being said, rifled slugs should give you the best results.

Same problem here. Won't cycle anything less than 2 3/4" 00buck n slugs. Sits at back of safe.
Not impressed considering claims from others that It'll eat anything.
Maybe I'll get pissed off enough one day and enlarge the gas ports a smidgen.

I found mine will work with everything except Winchester AA reduced noise/recoil loads for me, but for my son will malfunction almost every shot with standard target loads (everything stiffer is ok)...it has something to do with the way we hold it. Try taking a firmer grip with the lighter loads before you modify...mine worked fine basically right out of the box for me.

In this vid - CHEEP Winchester loads are used...

MOre cheep Winchester being used quickly.

What you see are two three quarter inch 1 ounce 12g #6loads and 1ounce slug hand loads that are used on all 3 semi auto pictured above.

Shot and slug rounds have been chronyed @ only 1150fps using Red Dot powder CCI primers pink Winchester wads.

I can actually go even under 1100fps and the MP-A still cycles flawless.

Did you guyz check that other web site?
There is a guy there that got it to cycle light trap and skeet loads by replacing the magazine tube spring.
