Like the title says, what new pistols do people have that they really enjoy?

I very much enjoy both of mine that I purchased recently (afterall, why not buy what I want now rather than wait until the dumbasses slap on a bunch of new bans and regulations?).

The Sig Sauer P250 is my first gun, though because I forgot to inform the seller after I changed my address, both it and the Tokarev had their transfer approved at the same time, so technically it's a tie, or whatever... The important bits are that I picked it up at the local shooting range / shop, Nova Tactical, for $450. It was used but you wouldn't really know it to look at it, and it fits my palm like a glove. So far I've put almost 200 rounds through it (30 today, as I finished off a box that I had shared with a friend) and have begun improvement as others have pointed out some of the flaws in my grip and stance. I originally started out right-handed (my off-hand, but dominant eye) shooting low and to the left in fairly consistent groups, and then since have now found that my left hand is the superior, if only for the marginally better fine control. After getting past some of the basic stuff, like don't take my finger off the trigger between each shot, and that the off-hand should do about 60-70% of the work of bracing, I've found my aim slowly but surely improving. My groups are still looser with the left, but definitely more on target.

Now the Tokarev is something I'd been thinking about for a long time. The more I look at it the more I like it, since there's just something about it that has a lot of character for an old surplus pistol, from the "funny" way the russians decided to stamp two dates on it, to the almost worn away star on the trigger, and the simple pleasures of the aesthetics and the fact that all the serial numbers seem to match. I took it to the range today for the first time and have a feeling this will quickly become my most favorite for a while. It had a nice smooth trigger and I was able to compensate for the muzzle climb after the first several shots thanks to my previous experience with my Sig, and overall found the recoil to be less than with my 9mm. I picked up it at the Halifax Army Navy Store (listed in the Dealer Network) for $250, along with some boxes of Sellier & Bellot. So ironically it may be the cheap little surplus pistol that convinces me to get into reloading, rather than something in .45 ACP.

So has anyone else picked up anything that they just can't wait to take to the range again (and again, and again...)?

So, are we still seeing posts like this because the person posting can still see the pictures? (but no one else can)
It's been months since photobucket quit working hasn't it?

I knew there was a reason I stopped using Photobucket, aside from the fact that they started shrinking down the pictures you posted on them... pictures fixed now.

I was having issues with my Grand Power X-Calibur I bought in January, but I gave it a good cleaning, changed ammo, and last night put 200 rounds through it and it was flawless. Now I’m all giddy and excited for the upcoming IPSC season and can’t wait to shoot it again. Over the course of a week I went from being pissed off at it to loving it again.

I realized it hasn't even been a week since I was last at the range but feels like forever. I definitely can't wait to shoot my new pistols again, especially get in some more practice with my Sig. It's going to get expensive on ammo if I don't keep myself to a strict 'diet', but thankfully field stripping my Tok helped stave off the urges I was feeling, heh.

Though this thread has reminded me of one thing I won't be able to enjoy for a while. Not until I save up for another gun. Since I don't think there's many grip options for Tokarevs and you guys definitely have some nice ones that have made me jealous.

In .45 my new love is an HK45 that I bought unfired from an estate for $700 at Phoenix Indòor Range & Gun Shop in Edmonton. This pistol shoots like a fricken laser!

In 9mm I have many options and many loves, but my SIG SAO P226 Legion is the top of the heap. The trigger break and reset are simply magical!

I've got quite the harem. I'll post one of my newer gals along with an older babe, she's 27 and still in her prime in 2018.. sorry for the crappy pics and they're alittle dirty (they didn't want me taking their pic, but I kinda like em' alittle dirty ; ) )

My Beretta 74 is fairly recent.. She's really well balanced, solid piece and well put together. Shoots like a dream, super sweet little .22. Nice trigger fun gun. Next to the 27, she's a bit bigger but has curves in all the right places and very well proportioned with a 5" barrel. I would much prefer having an N frame in .44 but this gun is such a classic and crafted so well I couldn't turn er' down. She handles anything I toss at her from the hardest hitting magnums to the softest cuddly .38's. She knows how to do it very experienced, hell it's in her genes coming from S&W.

Nice thread OP. I love pistols aswell. Latest one for me was a glock 19 canadian edition not really picture worthy. Still trying to get the hang of it at the range, can't shoot it as well as my 17. Looking more forward to my G26, got the 19 mainly to use its barrel for the 26.

The Tokarevs a wicked pistol. Blasts out a .30 round, the brass shoots way in the air aswell. Sure the competition/uber accuracy guys won't see the glory in it. Atm I prefer to get good at shooting a wide range of pistols. I enjoy shooting like a combat scenario with reaction targets. My tok is a well worn gun that I got for next to nothing. Even at over $200 it's the sks of handguns why not buy it..

I also wanted to mention since you talked about reloading and .45. GET A .45...! If you like handguns lots, you'll love .45!! I love shooting fat ol .45's in a classic Americana 1911, prefer the commander size myself. Everyone needs atleast one 1911 same with revolvers. Talkin' bout .45 makes me wanna go toss some fatties down range!! However, I highly recommend you reconsider reloading for the Tokarev if it is chambered in 7.62×25. It is a very cheap round already at around 24 cents and reloading for necked down pistol cartridges is a huge pain. Otherwise .45 is a great round to reload and reloading is a great hobby in the off time.

Happy shooting!!
