Have you ever found a gun in the bush?

I was helping a friend clean up some old buildings on his newly acquired property an hour west of Edmonton, many moons ago, in the one building, which looked like it was a dirt floor cabin, we found what was left of an old lever action. Have it hanging in my garage. No wood left, only the metal. Cleaned it a little, unable to find any marks on it. Didn't want to dig to deep. It is now mounted on a shrine like.

When i lived in Spain as a kid found an micro Uzi on the beach.
and in Morocco my sister found h&k p7 on the floor of the toilet at public washroom at the Hilton.

Living in Denmark as a kid our school curriculum consisted of a one week trip at the start of the school year where we learned orienteering, home economics, and countless hours of exercise.

I was 11 and our class had gone to a coastal town where we stayed in old army barracks.

A couple of buddies and myself went exploring and found one of these. :)

I distinctly remember our teacher freaking right out. We had no idea what it was at the time.

I left a 12 gauge pump against a tree while backpacking in some rugged terrain in the Northern Rockies with my Dad, I thought he had it he thought I had it, we were a little lost and we had to walk in ever increasing circles until He found it. Lucky

No, but the 'best' I found was a switch blade knife once.

It was in a wooded area right next to a parking lot for Navy apartments. A RCN sailor most likely bought one somewhere in another country's port city & then later on, decided to turf it to save his career.

I was just a kid then. Only God knows where that thing ended up!

maybe.....

Edit: My older brothers pulled various very old navy smoke shells out of sea side steep embankments.

Found a shot gun at the range. Group of guys thought it was mine when they all left. Came back later and looked in the log sheet, looked my name up in the phone book and called me to ask if I had it. He was so happy I didn't turn it into the RCMP ( not sure who would do that anyway) Met up with me and gave me a case of beer.

About 14 years ago my brother in law purchased a old farm that no one had lived in for 30 years or so. When exploring the old house he found a s&w top break in .44 Russian that had been stashed away in the ceiling of the root cellar. Pistol was wrapped in oiled flannel rag and old newspapers. It was in surprisingly good condition. He still has it but now has antique status and still refuses to sell it to me...

I was sitting on the edge of tree line way back in the mountains looking for sheep one day(A very long ways back), I laid back in the moss and looked around at the trees around me, saw something that didn't look right leaning against one of those trees. As I focused my eyes I could see what looked like a rusty lever action rifle leaning against the trunk of one of those old trees. I just about came out of my skin thinking that I had just found and old lever action rifle left by an old prospector or trapper. Upon a closer inspection it turned out to be a Daisy Red Rider that must have been sitting at the base of that tree for 20 years or more I would guess.

I always wondered about how it got there and the poor little guy that forgot it there, I bet he was heart broken when he got home! I know I would have been...

Found an old cooey single shot in the debris of a house demolition

it was a little rusty but the barrel looked straight

But the sear was so shot out that when you put it on #### you could set it off by lightly tapping the side of the stock, never did shoot it, eventually buried it in the dump

Found two so far....one was an old Stevens single shot 12gauge. ....barrel was split in about four places......still a dried mud plug in the muzzle
other was an incredibly rusty Enfield sporter.

Never found one in the great outdoors but have come home on 3 or 4 occasions to find a beat up Cooey 22 in my back porch. No one has ever fessed up to putting them there either.I cleaned em up and made users out of them .

My dad and I were on a sheep hunt with a friend of his and his son (50 yrs ago now). The friend sauntered off into the bush (timber line high above YA-HA-Tinda ranch) to do his business and when he came back out he was carrying an Enfield P14 that he found leaning against a tree. The gun was still in quite serviceable condition and is still in his son's vault ready for use.
