Hay! WayUpNorth ;P Look inside ;)

Nope! I got 2 items, A brick of 500 Aguila SuperExtra .22 ammo & a new CZ455 Grey TH fluted in .22lr I couldn't fined what I wanted so I settled for my 3rd choice.
I was going to sell the grey thumbhole stock as I really need a Boyd's Pro Varmint for what I want to use it for, You know the videos I sent you.

Anyways Man that grey TH stock is super nice. I haven't seen a grey Thumbhole stock like this before. it's more black with grey highlights. I will take pictures of it tomorrow in the day light as it will stand out more.
Now I just need to find a 455 Varmint barrel in 17hmr. & still need the Boyd's Pro Varmint if I keep this stock or not.

I'm on the fence about Kidd I know they are one of the best but I heard good things about GM barrels just don't know if I can get under 1/4" @ 50yrd from GM

yep! you were on the list!

there is two way to make that list, not sure which one of my two rules you did to get there. I was thinking about this the other day while talking to wayupnorth.

it went like this, I wonder how many people on my ban list are trying to buy one of the nice items I have listed on EE and can't buy them because they pissed me off. Laugh2

is there no warning given to you that the other person has blocked you from PM's? I take it you want off the block list to buy the scope?

wayupnorth Well it was raining today but did get a chance to take a few pictures. like I said I was thinking about selling the stock before it arrived, But I'm not sure now this stock is nice.
Not your normal grey peppercorn laminate stock, like the darker colour it's different. by the way it's a 22lr rifle

Yep she is very nice, I was surprised when I opened the box. I was expecting a light grey peppercorn laminate stock. I was planning to sell the stock and get a Boyd's pro varmint before it arrived here.
But I'm not sure I want to do it now. I'm going to see if Boyd's can match these 2 colours in a Pro Varmint. I'm now looking for a New 452 in 17hmr varmint.

wayupnorth how's it hang'en? just had surgery a few days ago, Got my KiDD match barrel on Friday not really feeling up to installing it yet. I'm still on the fence about installing it on that X-Ring action.

Have you had the chance yet to shoot your Dlask/KiDD rigs for small groups?

negative.
work/kids/weather are all conspiring against me having any fun shooting time.

but i must admit since you mentioned that the x-ring runs double recoil springs i lay awake at night thinking about getting one and trying it out, it seems to neat!

Very nice CZ Brocolt!

I have the same model, although my stock is not as interesting as yours. Hopefully yours is as accurate as mine. Funnily enough, I also planned to replace my stock with a Boyds ProVarmint but have not done so yet. Mine was initially disappointing with SK ammo, but loves RWS.

I also have a 10/22 bench rest rifle with a GM barrel - I think the Kidd barrel would be a good upgrade, accuracy wise based on my experience. The GM is slightly more accurate than the previous Dlask Xtreme barrel, but still not quite where I want it to be. I hope your Kidd barrel upgrade is successful and that will inspire me to spend the $ on a Kidd.

that is one of the reasons I'm on the fence on keeping it. There isn't enough info on this X-Ring action in RFC for Benchrest / target shooting. can this 2 spring bolt system compete? it might be the katz @ss you never know. it looks like I might be the guy to try it. Just that the X-Ring is very big $$ to waste just to find out it's sh!t or it's gold!

My other option was Dlask but I'm not happy with them right now, my last talk with them on the phone didn't go well and I was given the flow off.

Well guys I have made changes to Thumbhole Fluted rifle, it is now sitting on a Pro varmint stock but needs bedding and Pillars.

I took the TH stock and placed it on a CZ455 Varmint 17hmr still looks nice.

Tom E Gun the GM octagon barrel is holding top spot in RFC match for smallest group match. KiDD barrel hold more spots on the Top 50 but GM is #1 over all.

As of today I'm now looking into building another rifle for Rimfire Benchrest / Target shooting.
Not sure if the CZ 452/455 action will be able to compete near the top or should I look at a different action all together.

I don't know anyone shooting Benchrest so info seem to be hard to get. I'm not looking to build a full open unlimited class rifle or a factory class. something in the middle class 10.5lb sporter class? if that makes sense.

Tom E Gun what kind of groups you getting from that 10/22 @50

Disappointing. I can average 1/2" at 50 yds but despite multiple serious attempts (12+) I have not qualified for the 1/2" challenge. Typically I can get 3 or 4 groups under 1/2" but always have 1 or 2 groups just over 1/2". By contrast the CZ qualified on the second attempt, with a .306" average group size.

good job, any idea what stopping the 10/22 other then it's an open bolt action. stock pillar bedded?

I think finding your ammo has a lot more say than the fine details of bedding and such. I squeezed in the challenge with a hogue stock, tacsol barrel and Kidd internals in a ruger receiver. 36gr mini mag hollow points are the ticket for that particular 10/22

I know this is contrary to the typical "wisdom", but I am not a big believer in pillar bedding or glass bedding (ie: forcing a steel barrel & action to be in firm contact with a wood stock at multiple locations). I believe that differences in expansion and contraction of steel and wood must result in changes in accuracy if the 2 are firmly bedded. My research tells me that bedding can sometimes produce better individual groups than free floating, but free floating produces better overall consistency.
