Heads up! Marstar's page is up for STG44,BD38,BD3008

There is no surprise on the pricing....it's actually lower than I'd been afraid it might be with the whole Euro/Dollar conversion thing. Alas, I'm strapped after 5 days at Vimy.

I would like the MP40 copy, I would also like the "MP 44 " if it were not for the cartridge. I don't think they ever made an "MP 44", the reason I say this is that I used to own an MP 43 which according to my understanding is a stg 44 made before they wanted them known as anything other than SMG's.

It's a pitty they did not chamber them in 7.62x39 instead of the pain in the ass 7.92x33.

This was battled to the death in the other thread. The end result was that it would have been too difficult for the company to make a decent or even functional repro of the stg 44 in 7.62x39, most of it's importance was in the caliber used, if you can afford the gun you can probably afford the ammo, and they'll be making 8mm Kurz ammo available.

Were you there on duty or private trip?
Good experience? I hope to go some day...

There is no difference in the mp43/mp44/stg44 rifles. But the stamping for MP44 is the most common.

I sincerely applaud Marstar for bringing these into the market for us. They are likely everything a shooter with nostalgia for history would want.
For me, I am more of a collector than a shooter, and 3k can buy a fair amount of authentic militaria and firearms.
So, as much as I would love to see one, I will pass, but I will enjoy hearing the raving reviews from my fellow Gunnutz!

Granted, it's a limited market. But FINALLY some parity in Canada. You don't have to have been collecting German milsurps since 1974 to know what it's like to own and fire an STG44.

The prohib regs are, frankly, age discrimination.

I don't know...$3000, expensive...this much mony can buy a very nice "authentic" SIG, non restricted.

yes, 3000 is alot of money, but it is still a fair deal, 3000 for a fireing, legal, kick-ass stg44? In canada.
I dont have deep enough pockets, at the moment (see my items in april purchases, and you'll know why), so I wont be getting one, but I want to.

Niiice...
Not the price however. But the fact that we are 'permitted' to buy them is nifty.
More scary looking guns for the antis to whine about. Take that hippies!
