I to think that someone should be making stens based on this developement.

My thoughts exactly, wonder if the 3008 fires from closed or open bolt ... Seems to me like it would be a simple matter of making a new bolt and twisting the mag well 90 degrees clockwise after that ... Mind you, this thing is WAY too rich for my blood, heck, my entire "collection" if you can call it that doesn't even come close to a 3000$ value, not to mention that I don't have my restricted ...

Well Done Marstar... Hey ALL you really have to stop #####ing about the price.. Wake up for one second and think of it like this. Take something that was designed, engineered, and built 60 years ago. With 60 year ago labor cost, and 60 year ago materials cost. Umm,, like maybe real nice bridge or something. Now what if you wanted to replace that bridge today because it got washed down river during last years spring freshet.

Well guess what those same labor, material, design, engineering cost will be inflated to todays cost. So there you have it. If you consider that SSD, basically re-designed these firearms so that they could even be legally sold to us in this bloody Liberal filled world, is an achievement on its own right. So for 3k, sorry to say but it's fair.

And if you don't have the cash, well finance it. #### it would not be the first thing you ever bought on credit now would it.

One more thing, who ever keeps crying about the fact that it is not chambered in x39, would you please stop it! Really if it was in x39 it would be called a CZ-858 OK!

Now for my question.. Does anyone know if the cartridge capacity in the mags will be 10 or 5? Personally I think they should be 10 as in my opinion there is no distinction between a restricted class purpose made rifle and a pistol. Both can only be used at an authorized shooting range so what difference would it make if they could hold 10 rounds instead of 5?

That's an amazing price for a small production run made in Germany. I for one am so happy they kept it in x33, 7.62x39 is a piece of crap.

Maybe they would consider making an FN-FAL,

then again that probably would not fly as the DSA does not cut it as a semi only.

No question about the MP44, its a rifle. But what about the 38, or 3008 could they be considered pistols? My guess is no.

In the US a semiauto PPS43 is being sold with the stock welded in the folded position so that it qualifies as a pistol.
Potatoes - how much older than you do you think Claven2 is? I bet there is less difference than you might think.

Well I for one would consider buying a MP-38 or 44... at about 1/2 the price. From the very few pictures they do look well made but way out of my price range for a new toy.

Are they all new parts? Or just the receivers?

I would like to see a semi auto Sten for the price of the VZ-58S also if it was well made like these.

I would estimate Claven2 to be in his late 40's, early 50's. Not because I think he sounds like he's old, but just because his collection is so vast and comprehensive.
