Just a heads up, they are meant to go all the way back to the receiver, just needs a little more of a push. if you haven't already you will crack your rear tabs that hug the barrel. Already seen it done once because it was set up like yours.

Good tip! I believe this will leave some space up front to the mag tube ring...any recommendations for a spacer there?

Incidentally, I'm now in the market for an 870 18"-20" barrel bead sighted, mod choke. The shroud won't fit my slug barrel with rifle sights, or a 14" barrel. The shroud/shield could be modified but...who doesn't need more barrels?

On the shotgun in question the shield doesn't go up to the mag tube ring and hasn't moved yet in 100 rounds or more, Seems to hold snugly in place without moving,

On the shotgun on the right, I noticed you've cut off the front mounting clamp. When I test fitted my shield on a 14 inch barrel, I was disappointed it covered the bead sight line...have you raised your bead,or?

disregard, on a second look I see rifle blade and ghost ring set up a-la 590A1.

It is a 590a1 with ghost rings, this is a brand new heat shield from sladestreet made for 14" with ghost ring set up, only one mounting ring on these new ones.
