Hey Guys;

Getting tired of being COLD on stand in late season... It's usually the last hour or two where the cold really starts to seep in... I'm looking for recommendations on a heated vest (preferably) or a jacket...

There's so much online I can't make heads or tails out of it & local stores are 'free shipping' to store...

So, likely going to buy online but would appreciate any advice.

Thanks in advance

Cheers
Jay

Here is the one a buddy bought & he likes it... h ttps://www.amazon.ca/LABEWVI-Included-Lightweight-Electric-Rechargeable/dp/B0CF5QKHFZ?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1&psc=1

Loving my amazon heated gloves and socks. Take awhile to charge though. Also have milwaukee heated jacket using m12 batteries, have had it for years, found it too bulky under my other jacket so bought the hoodie on clearance on home depots website for 99$ this summer. I use cheap knockoff batteries from Amazon and have 6 so swapping out is great.

My wife is one of those ladies that is ALWAYS COLD. She bought a heated hoodie from amazon, ORORO brand or something like that. She LOOOOOOOOOVES it. Only downside is it only came with 1 battery, so if you don't have a way to recharge it its not going to be much use on multi-day trips. It charges via USB though, so you could use USB battery pack or a car charger. I think you can get more batteries too, haven't really looked into that.

The only part of me that usually gets real cold is my feet, so I've been thinking about a pair of heated socks...

I use a heated jacket on my motorcycle and prefer the jacket to a vest. I use Gerbings equipment and everything I have has lasted for years and continues to work. It has a good reputation and quality product. Just google "Gerbing heated jacket" or The Warming Store

My hunting partners used the Ororo battery operated heated vest from Amazon.ca and love it. We bought one for my daughter in the Yukon and she loves hers, only complaint is can be too warm!

I have just ordered a Tidwe battery operated vest last week from Amazon.ca for an upcoming deer hunt for same issues OP is dealing with. It has yet to arrive and will post back on this forum once I receive it.

Thanks guys, I went with this vest.

My reasoning was, 7.4v (larger heating pads), a heated hood and a 16000mAh battery.

That heat in the collar is really nice. Will need a review once you have a chance to use it.

I tried some battery heated mitts last year but at a significant level of heat they ran out way too quickly. For me, the best bet are those tear open warmer packets. You can put them in any part of your clothing, they don't have batteries to wear out and seem to last forever if unopened. The active chemical is just rusty iron so they don't have any toxic disposal issues either. Buy them by the box at Costco and you're good to go for a long while, handwarmer and toe warmer styles are available. I recently saw them on sale too.

Okay, my vest arrived. No wonder Jeff Bezos is the richest man in the world, ONE DAY delivery! Jeez...

Details... The battery was 3/4's charged so I topped it up & just tried it out for the first time... I can fit a sweatshirt under it & then put on my hunting jacket, so the XL was the right size for me.

Initial impressions are that it seems well made. There are two buttons, one for the jacket, one for the hood. A 3 second press turns it on to HIGH, a second press turns it to MEDIUM & a third press turns it on to LOW.

Within LESS than 1 min I could feel the heat on my neck, chest & back. Placing my hands into the hood I could also feel the heat on both sides.

So far, so good! I'm impressed & can't wait to try it on a cold day deer hunting from a stand.

This one gets a recommended rating from me.

The vest...

What it comes with, a charge cord, battery & fine washable bag. (Key next to the battery for scale.) Some of the complaints about the batteries with more mAh's is they are TOO big... This one is 16000 mAh and not a bad size.

Is it washable? Spousal unit always wants to be warmer. This might work. - dan

The description does say it is: "machine washable"...

And it comes with a 'laundry bag' which I interpret as a 'fine washables bag' that you put the vest in to wash it...

Hey Jay

Just curious as to a “heated” jacket over say down filled puffy type of jacket for your ventures?

I generally wear wool, but this heated vest is a game changer. I wore it this afternoon to sit for deer for 3 hours. It was drizzling and 2C... I was NOT cold.

I ran the vest at low, then medium, then high to see what it was like. When I got home I checked the battery & it was at 3/4's charge.

Very happy with this purchase so far!

How did you find the sizing?
