Helicopter Hog Hunting, Texas

i would imagine it's pricey the exchange alone hurts it would be fun
myself i would like to go hunt them just like we hunt gophers my 6x45 with 80-85 gr pills just like big gophers šŸ˜

Many of the outfits also offer spot & stalk thermal night hunting.

Yes, it is not inexpensive. Basically $2500 an hour per person and most are minimum 2 hrs. The package we are looking at will be $11k for two of us.

I found one listed as an "executive" experience where you can go heli hunting in a Blackhawk. For that one, you need to bring about $50k with you.

It was with HeliBacon. Paid for 4 hours of flight time with video. Flew to Houston then drove to Bryan.

The morning of the hunt it was a bit cloudy. Said we couldnā€™t go because of a conditions. It seemed okay. We were told to rebook and come back another time. You canā€™t stay and go again another day of the week.

Next year flew back and went to go hunt. The morning of the hunt it was drizzly. We were told to rebook and come back another time.

I had to sell it to another guy on AR15.com. I didnā€™t want to fly back a third time.
 
Heli-Hog hunting is simply too rich for my blood. Night hunting with suppressors and thermal is definitely more affordable and realistic for yours truly.

As for TX being the end all and be all, have you spent any time in AB? The Wild Rose province is close enough to TX for me. No heli hog-hunting (yet), but things are looking about as good as they could on the Canadian firearms front, with the move towards Provincial regulation of lawful gun use and ownership, leaving only the administration of deliberate firearms crimes to the Federal Government. THAT is gonna be a huge improvement to how our culture/lifestyle/passion is administered and the determination of what is lawfully permissable. Provided we keep someone Conservative but open-minded in the AB CFO position (such as the current incumbent Dr. Teri Bryant), we are gonna be in good hands. Basically, if it doesn't hurt anyone else and is deemed to be safe, go for it. How far that goes in terms of suppressors and go-fast guns remains to be seen, however AB is already quietly charting new territory with full-auto rentals at certain approved indoor ranges, so "watch and shoot"....

Close but no cigar. Iā€™ve lived in Alberta since I took off from BC after highschool. (2006) my step sister and her family live in Houston. I visit every couple of years, Iā€™d take Texas every single time.
