Hello From Edmonton

prosper: and i keep none of that around me :D ... i just don't know enough about reloading to be on the side of keeping it with me - though i eventually will want to learn.

I have a small storage room in my apartment I could keep the stuff in if I had it. The whole volatile issue is a non issue for me. Perfume is flammable, but I keep that in my room. Its just a case of being aware of what is there and knowing how to look after it.

Clever girl Cass. Unfortunately, size, smell and noise are some issues you'd have to consider.

But anyways, see you tomorrow. Been a long time coming, eh? Month and a half. Have a safe journey down after work today.

It has been a long time coming. Today is going to drag on while I'm waiting to depart. I'll do my best to stay out of trouble on the bus ;)

I want to go shooting! The closest I've been to a gun in the last week and a half is the flare gun I used to light the flare stack this morning! Its been too long!!

See you tomorrow

Or you get a friend that has the equipment and borrow it :) then again - you'd still need the powder shells etc... :S

I'll let you noobs in on a little secret: Lee Anniversary kit! Comes with 95% of the stuff you're gonna need. Just add a set of dies, a case length gauge (great idea of you're loading for a rifle) and some other miscellaneous odds & ends (like a bullet puller!) and it's off to the races. All told, you can get started in handloading for under $200 (less the cost of brass, primers, powder, and slugs.) I do ALL (.22-250, 10mm Auto, and .38SPL once I get around to buying some dies) my ammo single stage right now, because I'm an apartment dweller, and have no room for the bigassed reloading bench and a progressive press. I've got everything bolted down to a plank, and that's C-clamped to my kitchen table. It takes longer doing it single stage, especially for handgun ammo, but it's my way to tune out the better half for a few hours.

Hey Grizz,

I'll give that single staging it would work. If I had 2 or 3 hours to burn during school, I'd hit it harder than the SAS at the Iranian Embassy back in '80. Then again, for the amount of shooting that I do, regretfully less than I would want, $200 can get me through 8 months, easy. It will be an investment when I get back from Israel next summer.

kodiak: you're going to Israel? pick me up a REAL Desert Eagle ... not one of those magnum research civi crap that like to jam :)

or that >.< you get yours yet? or have they still not arrived? As when it shows up i'm kicking you in the shins till i get permission to shoot it :)

Hi kids,

Yeah, I'll probably play around with a few toys while on the IDF bases. Woo.

Hopefully I don't get shot up in Haifa or Sderot or where ever they decide to post me. Yay...

lol kris apparently i showed up half hour after you left:p apparently you have a BRS99 - should let me try it;) i want one after seeing the one at the store :S

Hey Jeff,

Yeah, the BRS is a great toy to play with. More accurate than a pistol (due to more contact points) and lots of fun... Barring the 5rd limit on the mags.

As for letting customers shoot it... I can't do that. Store policy. Right Mark?

Looks like you're just going to have to lay down the coin for one. Or catch me on a day off.

Now, remind me why I would be so foolish as to go to work on a day off? Even if it's fun as a shooting range, I rather go do something fun. Like paintball, or go riding, or hunt down an apartment with 2 rooms... Ugghhh. I hate rent hunting.....

Kris

Hey Mark,
Paying for it will be so much easier if you stopped buying guns! Jeez...
Cass, finding a safe place is hard to come by, but we're looking. I know Siobhan wouldn't take too kindly to it.
Hmmmm...

Stop buying guns??? thats just plain rediculous.

Oh and no need to find a safe place if you CCW........
