I really liked the Marlin initially, for it's bang for the buck. But at 160$ vs 340$, concidering that I could afford it and wanted something a little bit more premium, I decided to pick a distributor exclusive 10/22.
It's like buying a Ruger American in .270 Win Vs a Weatherby Vanguard in 7mm Rem mag... You get the wood, the caliber choice and it's a Weatherby... Both can shoot a moose though. Don't get me wrong, the Marlin 795/60 is excellent and I almost bought it, but I think that I would have wanted a 10/22 later on.
