Help me find my 1911

You could always buy a Colt. ArmsEast has Colt and Dan Wesson (Dan Wesson's are beautiful, a 1911 lover's 1911). Smith and Wesson also make some very nice 1911's and their prices are very reasonable. Also check Armco - Gunnar has all kinds of new and used 1911's and he's a great guy to deal with.

Thanks for all the help guys, I still have alot of research to do.

There is a gunshow coming to Calgary. I am hoping to go down and get a feel for all the brands listed in this thread.

I'll keep you posted on which one I choose! :)

For the record, I now hate you because you cost me some future money by telling me who sells Colt...

As you may have guessed, I own a Colt. I also own a Kimber, but my Colt is better (To be fair, the Kimber isn't broken in yet, so it's not a fair comparison). I'd buy either again in a heartbeat.

The Trojan seems like a good gun, it has everything you need, but it will still be a little pricey. If your gonna use it for competition target shooting, great. But if you just want a good quality .45 that can you can take shoot for fun, get one with fixed sights. They are alot cheaper than adjustable. I just got a Springfield 1911 its a good gun, but I waited forever for it to come in!!

I'll Vote for Springfield
