Hi all,

I purchased a Ruger 10/22 in the summer of this year, and for Christmas I was given a scope for it.

After removing the filler screws from the receiver, I attempted to align the screw holes in the Ruger supplied scope base with those in the receiver.

There are four holes, and I cannot align any of them. The hole patterning in the base is different than that of the receiver, and it seams that the base is shorter than it should be.

I have emailed Ruger regarding the problem, and await their reply, but I do not know how far I will get with them. Any and all advice is appreciated.

I am really worried about this, as I do not think that I can get the filler screws back in without stripping them (if the mount is not too blame) and do not want to scrap the rifle, as I have not even had an opportunity to fire it yet.

Here are some pictures of my problem, once again any help or advice is welcome and appreciated.

It looks to me like the holes are drilled for two separate mounts, not a one piece. I would look into that situation before attempting to replace the fillers. In the catalogue I have, the one piece base is TO-9 and it does not list the two part system. But if you measure the hole spacing, assuredly a supplier can match up a pair. I have even taken in a pencil rubbing of the hole spread and came home with a set.

It might be your picture, but the holes in that rail don't look right. The front 2 should be roughly on a 0.5" centre, and the rear roughly 1.0" centre to centre. Your's looks like the hole patterns are both 1.0" centres.

Any way the Ruger rail's garbage, check out Hawktech Arms...the last time I ordered parts they (Jeff) shipped them free of charge to Canada.

http://www.hawktecharms.com/ruger/10-22.htm,follow this link and look for the PC weaver rail.

I mounted the PC rail to my 10/22 Target using the same 4 holes you're looking at.I'd get some good scope rings while you're at it, they'll make a world of difference. My Mueller APV is rock solid on this rail.

The mount you have on your hand is not for Ruger 10/22!!! It should be longer. The strandred should be appox 4.75 inches long.

CHEERS.
