Greetings,

I'm having a pain of a time trying to get a part for a combo .22/.410 (It's going to be used to hunt with). I have only found it on the site mentioned below. Western Gun Parts cannot get it, they supplied some other minor parts for it, and a few other stores did not even respond to my request.

site: http://www.gun-parts.com/savageshotgun/

Models: Models 24- 24C- 24D

Part: #5-1 Release Button..................$15

This seller will not ship out of the US even though the part is not over the value limit other vendors have and does not appear to need a license/Export Permit.

Quote from Brownells site
"Generally speaking, items which usually need a license are:

Frames
Receivers
Barrels
Barrel Liners
Various other gun parts such as triggers, sears, ejectors, magazine tubes, scopes, and other items if the ordered amount is over $100.00 US."

Does anyone have a US address or contact they use to ship from sellers like this? The Gun was inherited and that is the only outstanding piece. Lacking the button makes it very difficult to open the action.

Please contact me via PM if you can assist.

You may find that a US business will not accept an order to be paid for with a Cdn credit card and a US delivery address.

Call your visa company and add a us address. You should have no problem as item does not require a permit as op indicated.

Your part is restricted from export from the US. Any exporter will need their export permits in order, even if the order is less than $100. You cannot go and get it or have it drop shipped to someone who will then ship it to you if they don't have their paperwork in order.

Try Savage directly. They'll sell and ship to Canada.

Try Numerich Gun Parts Corp. They will ship to Canada but it will probably cost twice the price of the part (export paperwork, I was told). When I needed parts for a Savage 24C I piggybacked my parts on to the order of a local gunsmith and that helped with the cost of shipping.

Call John

I used him/Grech outdoors in southwest ontario for some savage sights for my model 24 took a while but he got them for me!

here is website with details! I believe I got his number and name from Savage.
