The meat was spoiled eh? I say give it to 'em. Leave it in their van until they pick it up from the impound lot. Better than a fine, IMO.
Had to be from a day before I'd say, and they were going back. It is the news, they don't always have Facts strait

I've heard it said, with moose at least, that if you don't get the hide off that day, it's spoiled.

Police around here recovered a stolen Jeep a couple years ago. Two guys were shooting out of season on my buddies property. The two guys took off on foot when my buddy blocked them in with his truck. He came home from work and noticed a set of vehicle tracks going past his place (dead end road to everything but a 4x4). He decided to drive into his acreage following the tracks. There was a deer in the back of the jeep. When they came out of the woods and spotted him and his truck they took off running. He got to keep the deer, the jeep still started and ran so they drove it to the road and the tow truck hooked it up. No plates on it. He said he didn't realize how stupid it was to drive in instead of just calling the cops first. The two guys had at least one gun since they shot a deer. He didn't have anything but his truck. He is lucky his cell phone worked since it's pretty sketchy for service around here.

Unfortunately, our legal system has much more of a bark than a bite. They will probably plead ignorance of the laws, claim that they are being singled out as minorities, and get a slap on the wrist.
Good work jdman, with how few CO's there are the hunting community needs to be their extra eyes and ears in the bush. How much you want to bet that these two get raked over the coals more than the ukee chief "Timothy Wilson Jack" who is responsible for poaching 24 elk over the last two years.
