I was thinking of picking one up now that we have a non-restricted option here. I read the reviews of the shorter barrel US version and they aren't flattering. I hate guns that jam more than anything. Anyone get one here and throw some rounds through it? How does it work if so?

I can't comment on reliability, but I handled one yesterday for the first time at my local store, and was immediately impressed with its feel, super solid feel, and felt good in the hands, pointed well. I am surprised there have not been any comments regarding the homesteader on CGN.

I have a Henry lever 22 and an all-weather in .357 that I think are both fantastic.

I'm still trying to wrap my brain around the allure of the homesteader over something like the Ruger PC carbine.
Other than the fact it has wood furniture, what is it that this PCC offers?

The bolt mass and recoil spring is ahead and below the action (in the foregrip). Would be interesting to shoot to see if that makes any observable benefit (e.g. to follow up shots). If none, then beyond the classic aesthetic and build quality, I don't get it?

I like the look of them but don't see what they offer over my Rugers.

I'd like to see how they stack up against the other PCCs as far as reliability goes before dropping the dime.

Picked one up Friday and shot 300 rounds of different makes and sizes today. . Not one problem except my old eyes had a hard time picking up the front sight against the black target at 30 yards. I’ll be putting a red dot on it and try again next week end. I really like the fit and finish and how the rifle feels. The bolt always locked back after last shot, unlike my fx-9.

I like shooting them both but the fx has the short barrel (4.6) and more fun at the range where I’ll take the Henry into the bush.

Got mine in the mail.

Might be a while before I shoot it.

When I opened the box I thought that it was a 16” version and not the NR version I ordered. Measured it and it was 18.5” - looks shorter.

Changing to the Glock mags was easy.

Well went back today and picked it up. gotta say i really like it. tested it with pmc bronze 124. not one hitch. put 100 through it just to warm it up and get it broke in. unlike the USA model this one comes with 2- 5 round henry mags. i put the first 10 through it with them, then switched out to the glock houseing. i used factory 10 round glock, fab, dura, and 10/33 glock and sgm mags. however..... i only got to shoot 10 of those 100, as SOMEBODY ELSE loves it. guess i gotta buy a second one

henry really hit a home run with this one im thinkin. my old eyes however are not a fan of the sites, and ill have to get a red dot or something on it soon.

anyone on the fence about one im sure you will like it

yes top is drilled aceppts a weaver 63B mount. flat top so im sure also a guy can make up anything. henry picatiny mounts also fit but dont have the part number yet

Not putting the rail in the box is about the only shot Henry "pulled"..... they do look like a nice "traditional" style carbine.

A micro red dot mounting option like most handguns have these days would be a pretty cool mix of old and new.

Yes. They should have put the scope base in and kept the 5 round mags
