Hello fellow gunnutz! I am posting this in hopes someone may be able to offer some advice...
I purchased a Henry lever arms 45/70 off of a fellow cgner a while back. Un knowingly to me and maybe to the previous owner... the chamber had a huge gouge in it and resulted in difficult extraction, overextended casings and was just not to the standard of a Henry arms firearm.
I contacted Henry arms who connected me with 'Grech Outdoors' as they are the only warranty approved location for Henry Arms firearms...
I won't go into detail with the terrible costumer service and lack luster approach to repairing the rifle. Long story short, it wasn't repaired correctly and was sent back to me.
The chamber has been honed / polished and now is slightly oversized and the gouge is still there - obviously.
I contacted Henry arms to see if I had another option to have my rifle repaired. They again connected me with 'John' at Grech Outdoors - the same guy I delt with the first time.
John asked me to send him package size and weight and he would send me a shipping label. This was Oct 24, 2020. I've yet to hear from John. I've emailed a week back (nov 23) to try to touch base, nothing.
Does anyone have any advice as to what I can do about this? I've had this rifle now for almost 2 years and have still yet to have it repaired properly. I'm not sure how to have John do the work properly. I've been consulted with industry experts about the repair and have been told it simply needs a new chamber / barrel. John stated that 'everyone thinks they're a gunsmith, I don't care what you say until I see it.
I'm frustrated and don't know what to do.
Cheers
