I just ran across this mentioned on the Nitro Express forum:

A Westley Richards in .375 WR (their version of the H&H) First $13k takes all.
Here's the link to the full details: http://www.hendershots.net/gunview.asp?GunID=1143

Ammo and dies, etc. will be a bit hard to find but if you can afford the rifle, this will be of no consequence!

Maybe Gatehouse should replace the .375 Ruger he's selling with this. Add a bit of class to his "nimrodding" about in the bush.

Nice, except for the high capacity oil pan hanging down under it. :D

True. "Distinctive" but less than attractive. Still, 5+1 capacity might not be a bad thing if things got nasty out in the jesse and you didn't have time to "change the oil."

Without question, that is one of the most gaudy, fugly rifles I've ever seen...

Hard rubber recoil pad.

Stock with lots of drop, makes it difficult to get proper cheek weld, especially using the high rings they have the scope attached to ...Not to mention the front ring that goes around the objective lens???...And that fugly magazine that drops down like a SKS magazine..

The Klingon Forehead looks ###y and petitie compared to this rifle.:runaway::runaway:

Hey, if you think it looks "classic" or something..and "classic" inspires you..Then go for it. The cartridge looks similar to a 375 Ruger, so it should be a winner.

:DGlad you said it & not me,:Dbut I got to agree. For a minute there I thought I was looking at the bottem end of my 6L just prior to changing the oil. Awhile ago when I was looking at getting a model 70 in .375 H&H, my son in law gave me a custom made .375 H&H based on a Sako action. I can easily live with that.;)

I do like classic rifles but there are two problems:
1) I don't need one (although what does that have to do with it, right?)
and 2) I can't afford it. (Well, DUH!)

I think I would go for a CZ if I were in the market
for a regular .375, although the Ruger looks intriguing.

But I do enjoy window-shopping, or as the French rather lasciviously put it, "faire du lèche vitrine" (to lick the windows)!

i just hope i did't damage my retinas when i briefly looked at that thing! Thats about as much as classic as an AMC Levi Editon Gremlin is!

That WR is nice. That type of bottom metal was used by WR on their .425's as well. It was to permit 5 round stripper clip loading. The Germans used something similar for one of their cartridges, maybe the .500 shuler. The all were used on 98 mausers, the standard length ones.
