Anybody have any good deals on newbie firearms or equipment, would be appreciated.

from the uk myself nearly 20 years ago. wouldnt go back for any amount of money. there is no way on gods green earth that i could live and enjoy the lifestyle that im blessed with here in canada. enjoy the site, so much to learn here. take your time and read as much as possible. as far as the moonshine.... a good canadian single malt; or crown royal when in a pinch. be safe,

I'm assuming you know that you need to go through a lisensing process to acquire or have a firearm. If not, a simple google search or a look around here can help you through it.

My grandfather came to canada in 1911 from Portsmouth England, and always said he liked the fact he could hunt and own guns, and one club member at my club came from Scotlnd, and owns all kinds of guns now, and his relatives still in scotland can't understand why he needs guns lol.

Baz,
welcome to Canada. Where aboots are ye from. Were always looking for more Geordies on CGN. :D

Welcome to Canada. I'm a Cornishman who moved to Canada 12 years ago, only planned on staying a year, but now cannot imagine the prospect of ever going back.

I want to ask if you got any pasties but I'm scared of your handle. :D

BTW, from the intonation of your typing I believe your from the Redruth area, possibly St Day? :D

Just to make sure you are ahead of the game....

As a landed immigrant you will have to either have had the status as such for a minimum of 5 years OR you will need a letter of good conduct issued by the local police from the town/city you were living in before you moved to Canada for the CFO to approve your PAL/RPAL.

I'm Norwegian and sent in my RPAL application the day after I had lived here for 5 years and even then the CFO was arguing with me cause he felt it was a bit too close to the 5 year criteria. After a debate over the phone he came to his senses and realized that I was right when I said that I didn't need any letter of good conduct and that it was irrelevant if I had been here 1 day past the 5 years or 10 years past the 5 years, as I fulfilled the criteria of being a landed immigrant for minimum 5 years

Just a heads up so you are aware of the 5 year criteria in the application and can obtain the necessary documentation before sending in your application. It would be a shame if your application would be delayed more than necessary.

Just a tiny tad though.
Took me a while to convince my wife that when the preacher said 'til death do you apart, it didn't mean 'til you buy a gun so you can cheat your wife out of ending your life agonizingly sloooowly. She still has first dibs on ending my life lol
