Hi I am thinking about starting a Tabuk Sniper Rifle.

Been gathering parts and brainstorming its construction when i can make the time.

I need to contact the machine shop monday and see if they have the appropriate tools to machine a M14x1mm SVD flashider. I would like to make a M16x1mm one as well, but decided there was no way to make such a thing that would look good. M16 is just waaay to fat. So maybe ill make an M16x1mm to M14x1mm (and left hand) adapter. Havent started the Tabuk project due to many reasons. The biggest being that i need stock LMGs for future advertising.

The project seems relatively simple enough that it could to a certain extent be offered as kit.

thank you very much for the update.

I would like to buy a kit or ship the Type 81 lmg to get it dress up either way.

Keep us posted please, really need something fun to hit the range.

Typically when you picture a DMR you want a solid, comfy stock. One that preferably brings the weight balance back to the rear. The Two Rivers Arms ones look good, but I'm not really sure about the longevity of that stock design to begin with. I have half a mind just to put a little riser on the club foot.

i was not talking about the two rivers arms as i ve seen on the video with 9hole the upper part of the stocl well craked but another company building the tabuk wood.

otherwise it can a tabuk with an ar stock to make fun of all. the important part is having fun ...

Interesting that it cracked ? I honestly only watched the good parts of that vid so i didnt hear about that. That is a concern of mine regarding skeleton stocks made from solid wood. My preference would always be laminate. But that also goes against the blonde solid wood "Tabuk look". Maybe ill be wise to use a blonds colored laminate blank for my project.

Well my projects finally under way, just finished designing a close estimate of what the butt stock will be shaped like. Now ill proceed to cut it out with the bandsaw and start shaping it. My original plan was to use a US palm grip for simplicity of sourcing one out, but after extensive searching i did manage to find a place that would ship a Yugo grip to Canada. It was very easy to install.

Wouldn't it be less expensive to see if the Chinese Manufacturer would just make them
After all, the have unlimited parts, Accessories and the ability to make a sniper
They probably already have one as issue

Unless ur ordering 1000s, i bet they could care less. Also willing to bet military factorys in China are very hard to talk to.

This project so far is proving to be the easiest stock ive made yet. Ill have it pretty much done by tomorrow. Spent more time searching for lost router bits then i did shaping it lol

Depends on how u go about it. The footprint of this particular Yugo grip was much smaller then the AK, so it basically forces u to remove most of the grip plate. Thus making it super easy to install afterwards. The AK grips could be just as easy if one decides to also remove the grip plate. But many including myself prefer to leave some of the grip plate intact and proceed to inlay the AK grip with the grip plate for added rigidity. This method takes more time.
