Hi-point 995ts

having taken mine apart. I don't think the barrel could be redone... if (big IF) they could make them with longer barrels it would be nice.

that explains it

When did you ask Kodiak about them? The RCMP only recently, as in about 2 or 3 weeks ago, decided to allow them to be imported. Until then, they in fact were prohibited from import.

Epps just happened to be the first place to get them in stock.

Then it's possible the change was not known yet.

extra mags

If and when they bring in the .40 I will purchase one in a heart beat. Add to that a possible .45 and I'd buy that too and likely sell the 9mm

I hope they will bring in extra mags at some point. One 5 rounder isn't going to be as fun as 2 or 3 mags.

Do they take the same mags as the pistols? If so would the CX4/PX4 magazine loophole apply here?

Mines winging ( or more likely, rolling) it's way to me as we speak. Had a little communications problem with the CFC that caused a delay but it's on the way now. Myself and a bunch of other folks are quite interested in seeing it and getting a chance to fondle and drool on it.

well my 2 came lastnight.
1 is mine 1 is buddy wateing for PAL to show up.

Well, mine finally made it in today. Fondled it, drooled on it, cleaned it and took off the iron sights and replaced them with a Bushnell Trophy red dot. Put on a spare front grip. Hope to get on the range Thursday and try it out.

Before anyone asks. Pictures..? Don't need no steenkin' pictures; looks just like the one a few posts above, heh.

By the way, I put a Glock mag up beside the Hi-point mag. Same length, same angle, mag release cutout in the same place. The Glock mag is a little thicker but there seems to be enough room in the pistol grip that someone with a Dremel might be able to make that nice 10 round pistol mag fit. Something to consider.

Also noticed today that Hi-point has upgraded their website a bit. Looks somewhat better than it did; they also list prices. $279 MSRP for the basic carbine in the US, so I guess we can't complain about the price we got them at, eh.

Non-restricted "Canadian" barrel would make this carbine a "black rifle SKS" on Canadian market... I would speak to manufacturer, it is not a time for them to lose such nice opportunity.
