Be afraid...

Well, that's how some view them. A CGN sponsor (Kodiak Outpost) has brought in some Hi-Points in .45ACP and .40S&W for $249 (free shipping). I'd be more inclined to bite if the 9mm carbines were available. Only issue is that Kodiak has the same policy as Lever as regards warranty issues - go to the manufacturer. Though Hi-Point replaces guns virtually no questions asked, I don't know how that would work cross-border. Ugliest guns ever made, of course, but I am tempted...somebody stop me!

Go ahead brother! Several years ago I won't buy a Glock because I thought they are ugly but I have one now. Who knows sometimes later the high point may get more fans than Norincos. Dollors for Dallors can't be beat.

I read a report about them in a gun rag a few years back.

They indicated that it's ugly, but it does work well. Reliable and functional. They shot 3.5" groups at 25 yards. Not bad for a cheapy.

That being said, I'll likely never buy one. It didn't get hit with an ugly stick - it got smoked by the nasty train.

Either way - kudos to Kodiak for bringing in a new toy!

Yeah, not the prettiest horse in the stable, but it's simple and inexpensive.

I've had a lot of inquiries about the carbines. I'd love to bring some in, but they're prohibited due to a "bullpup" stock. Unless the classification changes it's a no-go.

I don't have any mags in stock right now, but I will look to bring some in asap.

buy one and throw it in the box with rations and preserves,..almost like a henry survival .22 rifle.

I've been wanting one of these for a long, long time.

They are ugly as sin and they were only available in the US. Thanks to Kodiak for bringing these in.

I'm ordering one. Post - Haste. In .45. Because I'm gangster.

Man, I'm pumped for one of these.

Doesn't look like a bullpup stock to me, as the mag is in the grip and the breech is not way at the back of the rifle.

These look pretty cool. Hi-Point carbine - with a different stock.

"California" stocks. (They are not allowed pistol grips)

The Hi Points have to be big (and ugly) they are a blowback design. The slides need to be heavy to slow them down. Reasonably accurate because they have a fixed barrel.

Would I buy one? Nope.

HA - SUCKA'S

I just got myself a .45

The first time I shoot it, I'm going to hold it sideways, because that's how I roll.

Peace out, hommies.

In all seriousness, this gun was (HA! I can say "was" now) on my list of guns to buy. I never thought these would come to Canada, and now I get one.

Who knew such an ugly gun could put such a big smile on my face? :D
