Have an order on the way now. It shipped sep 11th I just called them up and away u go.

great to deal with, must just be a problem with theirs or yours email provider. id call or give it a day and try again with email iv always dealt with them via e-mail. fast replies and great service

I could never really justify ordering powder from them. By the time I added curior shipping and the $25hazmat fee, it always ended up being cheaper to buy it elsewhere.

Obviously i need to buy larger quantities at a time lol

Forming small buying groups to increase the amount of powder purchased at the same time is a good strategy to reduce the
effect of the hazmat fee. If the powder order is large enough Higginson's will even waive the hazmat fee.

So is this hazmat fee just an extra gotcha with them to keep small quantity buyers away?

I just ordered powder from Henry and there was no extra fee.

I have dealt with Higginson's for years. I have nothing but good to say about them. I have not corresponded via email, always by phone. As someone says, if you look at their website, I do think they are closed for a week or so.

Their hazmat fee makes me buy my powder elsewhere honestly.
Unless you are buying tons, I wont pay 25$ hazmat to have 1000 primers and a few pounds of powder delivered.

I agree.

I understand and sympathize that it may be out of their hands, but when factoring in shipping and hazmat, I can usually walk into a store and buy it cheaper. And, actually, where I buy from usually has powder cheaper than Higginsons even without the shipping and hazmat.

Bullets are a different story, though. I shoot mostly Hornady bullets and they always seem to have what I need in stock and even with shipping, it's usually cheaper than what I can pick them up for in the store.

Agree unless I can drive there I would look elsewhere and did.. but the bottom line for me is delivered at the least cost (all in) ..

City folk have more options.
