Yes, you can get them and yes they are affordable. But you get what you pay for. IMO, you'd be much better off buying a used gun from a more reputable manufacturer.can you get these in canada? i havn't seen them but would be a affordable choice i think. if you can and anyone has one opinions?
Te slide is made of pot metal (cast zinc). It has to be massive in order not to crack.I have the .40 S & W version, and I love it. It has proven VERY reliable and accurate. They are quite hefty, as the heavy slide is needed to tame the recoil due to design, but that same weight actually makes the recoil quite manageable. I wouldn't hesitate recommending one.

What's "very reliable"? 200, 300 rounds from new without a failure? Sorry but Hi Point pistols are crap. Don't tell me you can't afford a better pistol. Its called financial discipline. Save your money and buy quality. $600-700 gets you any number of quality pistols.
TDC
Ignore TDC, we all usually do.
I dunno... spending a bit more money to get a much higher quality pistol doesn't sound like bad advice to me.
Personally, I'd +1 TDC on that thought....

NAA.
What exactly doesn't make them a "reputable manufacturer"???
Is it the lifetime - no questions asked - warranty that you oppose? The availability of common parts??
Please.
And you have several thousand rounds of first hand experiance to back that claim up?
They aren't "crap", they're specific made for an intended market, namely people who want one, chose to own one, like handguns and can't or chose not to afford something better.
Are there better guns out there? Sure, no debating that, but for the price, they can't be beat.
I bet you've got a closet full of Norinco's, don't you?![]()
I have yet to read a credible review where the complaint is anything but size, weight or aesthetics.
