Victory Ridge Sports is hiring a Firearms Assembler to join our team in Barrie, Ontario. This is a hands-on, in-store role focused on the assembly and quality control of firearms and components.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble firearms and firearm components to specification
  • Perform quality control and function checks
  • Identify and troubleshoot minor assembly issues
  • Follow all firearms safety standards and legal regulations
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace
  • Work collaboratively with retail and production teams
Requirements
  • Valid Canadian PAL (Possession and Acquisition Licence) – required
  • Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Comfortable using hand tools and working with small components
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weight
  • Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused
Assets (Not Required)
  • Previous firearms assembly or manufacturing experience
  • Gunsmithing or mechanical background
  • Familiarity with common firearm platforms
Job Details
  • Location: Barrie, ON
  • Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
  • Schedule: Full-time

  • Work Type: In person only (no remote or hybrid options)

The factory there starts at 22.55. Shift work. Unskilled.

Cabelas, Canadian tire, DQ im sure, all right there, all pay the same or less.

Its an ENTRY level job. Its not meant to pay trade/journeyman rate and let you buy a mcmansion and drive a new truck.

There always has to be some jerk to shoot off their mouth when one of these ads comes up. What business is it of yours what they are paying?

I have a suggestion, open a gun store and hire away...Unless you're printing money, you will not be able to pay people above and beyond their economic output for long
 
Higher pay isn’t everything. I have medical and dental. Work provides my phone. Full internet and unlimited calls in North America. If I wanted I could also borrow money from work. I’ve also bought a company car that they financed.
I could go work at another place for more money but no benefits.
Plus it’s a good place to work.

Our benefits package is valued at an additional $2/hr, the store is a hell of alot cleaner and more comfortable than a DQ, our generous staff discount helps buy more pews (although I can see the appeal of cheap ice cream lol), and our customers are all like-minded folks so the daily traffic to our store provides good conversation and great company.

Its an entry level job that is not at all demanding and there is room to grow and take on more responsibility (and more pay) for the motivated and responsible individual. Plus the wage is negotiable based on skills and experience like anything else.

Thanks for sharing your opinion anyways, I will give it some careful consideration.
 
After the $hit week and a half I just had dealing with all this woke solar electric garbage that DOESN”T WORK in -30 and NO SUN to charge any of this pos garbage up I’d gladly be up for assembling renegades and other guns
Be in a nice warm shop and not freezing your #### off getting covered in inhibited methonal, packing a bazillion agm batteries around to each location to keep pumps, well control systems and heat trace systems going, ya if this was close to home I’d apply too
Prob get a discount on in store purchases as well!
 
K, so what's wrong with a $45k per year job? Perfect for some: esp. those interested in Firearms. Someone young, & interested{a foot in the door} towards Gun Smithing. W/ NO experience, this is a Great Opportunity. Or as Jay said, someone older/semi-retired, & a love of guns/tinkering.
All people can do is b*tch & complain. I'm fatigued & over it here.

If you have a stay at home wife, kids & high rent or mortgage, Obviously this would not work.

When I was 19 & an Assistant' Manager lol @ Radio Shack..I would have LOVED this pathway much better. & that job didn't pay much over Min. wage, either did the manager job come to think of it :p {This is 20/25% Over Min. to start an entry level job.}
 
I don't think it's fair to compare this opportunity with jobs at fast food outlets
While not the same work, when I was working in the sports fishing retail industry pay was similar, excellent benefits package, bosses who fished and hunted so shared similar interests and ideals, and the staff and dealer discounts were excellent. Add it all up and those perks were definately added value over the base wage rate.
Like I said, if Victory Ridge was out here in BC or Alberta, they would already have my resume LOL
