HK MR223 - lots 'o pics

So, what's the sales pitch? If I walk into a gun shop, and there's an LMT AR w/Daniel Defense rail laying next to this thing, what do I tell the wife to justify the price difference? Please tell me there is a reason, other than it has the letters "HK" on it, to justify that price tag?

Personally, it looks to me like an AR with a factory FF rail and a strange grip angle, plus a whole hell of a lot of ugly writing plastered onto the side of it.

Is there an MR308 on the way?

Easier to ask forgiveness then permission?

HK guns kill zombies better, and how do you expect to kill 1000 of them without jamming up your DI AR. Be sure to let her know that a Gas piston AR15 will just make sure she lives longer!:D

...and if that doesn't work, then re-marry, or do like UncleWalther and sell in a month!

OK...the lottery starts now....
I'm betting it's in the EE by the end of the month....
Any takers?
I like H&K stuff but couldn't/can't justify the $ for what it is....

I was expecting this kind of mixed bag of responses. It seems that people have either a love or a hate relationship with HK. In its defense, this does not feel like a normal AR. Now, to be fair, I can only compare it to my Stag 15-2L. But, my Stag feels like a tinker toy compared to this. The fit and finish are absolutely immaculate (it has that same high-quality feel that the HK P7M series has). It is like handling a base model Springfield GI .45, and then picking up a Wilson Combat. Sure, the Wilson is a hell of a lot more, but it possesses a quality that the GI .45 (a good gun in its own right) will never have.

I haven't fired the gun, but the trigger feels outstanding. It is completely unlike the spongy, gritty, hateful trigger from the SL8. Price... hmmmm..... yes, it is pricey. But, it is not much more than buying a Swiss Arms ($3200 plus), plus a quad rail ($650), plus a top rail ($200). Will it end up in the EE? You never know. Statistically, the odds are in favour of that happening. I like to try 'em all, and I only keep my faves.

Nice gun, but they have hamstrung their US sales potential by making it non-compatible with the AR system. I believe they US ones will be made in the US due to 922r, the ones at SHOT were German made.

Its not like your done spending money on that thing, you have no sights, a crappy angled grip, crappy buttstock(whats that sling loop there for,to rip into your head?), no flashhider and a front sling mount attached to the barrel so I guess you need a real free float rail :) other than that its great out of the box.

ohh and it didnt even come with a mag , my mighty Stag would destroy that two lettered abortion :)
