HK MR223 - lots 'o pics

So you don't like it is what you are saying :p.
Its not like your done spending money on that thing, you have no sights, a crappy angled grip, crappy buttstock(whats that sling loop there for,to rip into your head?), no flashhider and a front sling mount attached to the barrel so I guess you need a real free float rail :) other than that its great out of the box.

ohh and it didnt even come with a mag , my mighty Stag would destroy that two lettered abortion :)

...and if that doesn't work, then re-marry, or do like UncleWalther and sell in a month!

Thankfully I'm not actually married, it was a theoretical scenario. :D

I didn't realize it used a piston gas system rather than DI. Thanks for that.

If only it was available in .308, then I might be able to justify another black rifle to myself.

No I like the it but its really not much of great value..... HK really neutered it. Its really got none of the good features of a AR with all the bad connotations associated with the AR.

Without firing it I give it a 5 out of 10 .

I give ya 2k for it in 4 months lol............

What makes this gun "neutered"?

I dont believe they neutered it, they just did what they had to to offer civilian sales. All it could use is a proper grip and flashhider which are available. I agree with UW in the comparision to a swiss arms with all the accesories and think it is priced properly for what you are getting. Also it does come with an HK mag however IIRC they are just not pinned yet and cant be delivered to customers.

There's lots of comparisons to ARs, but it is not an AR.....

Did this thing go to the RCMP firearms lab? Was it deemed and labeled an AR variant? If not, is it on any dealer/distributor's list to have them examine or re-examine it in the hopes of having it turn non-restricted?

I believe the simple fact that HK was at one point advertising this as the HK M4 would make any technical differences between the platforms moot. Look at the STG556. But I'd LOVE to be proven wrong....

...maybe if it was non-restricted that might justify some of that price. Until then, I'll stick to drooling over the Swiss Arms line up for my next .223.

Well for one the upper will not work with standard AR lowers and vice versa the HK lower will not work with standard AR uppers=neutred

Until UncleW actually tries different AR parts,ie grip, buttstock,FH and various mags this whole rifle might be a one off which=a neutred AR

Don't forget, you would have to convince HK to make a different barrel. One over 18.5". Doesn't matter if this is a variant or not, the barrel is still a restricted length.

Well I guess Swiss Arms, Tavor, etc are also "neutered" because they don't work with AR lowers/uppers.

Why would you want to mix and match parts anyways? One of the main appeals of this rifle is the quality/fit and finish that is far above your average American-made AR. If you're spending that kind of money, wouldn't you want quality parts throughout? Why put a Hyundai engine in a Ferrari or vice versa?

Well, they made a longer barrel for the P2000 pistol to make it Canada-legal, so that's not outside of the realm of possibilities.

I agree 100%... It is a rare item and while it may have cost alot it is still cheapfor HK since it is nowhere near the price of a G36C which doesnt even take AR mags. Even the HKP30L is listed around $750 and we Pay $1150 for used ones here. If you can't afford/ Won't pay $4200 for this rifle then that is fine. But If i had the money i would love to own one just to try it out for myself. Just try and look at it as if it isnt an AR variant and it is equal to the other "rare" black rifles out there, however it gives room for personal customization.

WTF are you talking about?? This is the neutered version of HK416 which will drop on any standard AR lower.
How can you even compare it to those other platforms at all?
Any way you slice it this is a neutered 416.
